Mid Century Icon

This iconic home was designed by New Zealand Architect Don Wilson for his family and is located close to town in the leafy suburb of Saint John's Hill.
Featured in numerous NZ architectural publications the house also won the NZIA enduring architecture award in 2014.
Authentically furnished and decorated with art, pottery and ceramics also befitting the era- The Wilson house offers more than a taste of “ International modernism” right here in New Zealand.
Enjoy your stay.

Loved our stay
We came here for a weekend stay as 2 families of 4 and really enjoyed it. Plenty of space and an absolutely stunning property with loads of interesring quirks and really helped to set the vibe for what Whanganui has to offer in terms of art and architecture. Really well equipped kitchen with everything you need, comfy lounge, spacious dining table, awesome woodburner. The host is really friendly and easy to deal with. The only improvement I would suggest would be more blankets and curtains in the twin room, the kids felt a bit cold at times overnight. Highly recommend!
