The accommodation was very clean and comfortable.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space for 6 people. The lovely garden attracted lots of wildlife. The coastal path is nearby so we enjoyed some walks right from the front door. Beautiful areas like Lulworth cove are within easy reach by car. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday you could hardly do better! The house is situated on a small private road in lovely surroundings. It was very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The beautiful mature, country garden was a delight. So many different species of birds to be seen and every evening the badger arriving for his peanuts! If you are taking your dogs it is perfect as there are so many different walks straight from the front gate with no need to get the car out. However although there are two parking spaces we found parking a little tight with our size car. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We enjoyed an absolutely fabulous week at the Gannets.
We enjoyed an absolutely fabulous week at the Gannets. On arrival the house was spotlessly clean, and the owners could not have been more helpful. The location is excellent for long walks with our two dogs and the large garden was a bonus. The wildlife was fantastic with numerous wild birds and badgers at night. We highly recommend this property and have already booked a week's stay in 2021. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely location. Beautiful gardens and views. Charming and very homely. Wildlife was stunning. Bit tricky to park an estate vehicle. Had everything you could possibly need. Very clean inside. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This has to be one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in.
This has to be one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. Very well equipped and comfortable but the best thing about it was the wildlife. We had regular sightings of robins, chaffinches, blue tits and woodpeckers and also squirrels but the best was the badgers. We had one come to feed in the garden every night and two on the last night. We will definitely be back Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This is a delightful cottage in some beautiful countryside; clean, spacious and well equipped.
This is a delightful cottage in some beautiful countryside; clean, spacious and well equipped. There is plenty of space for 6. The owners (Chris and Clive) were very accommodating and welcoming particularly offering us flexibility around arrival and departure times. Being Christmas the cottage had been fully decorated; not just a token tree, as we have had with past premium Xmas bookings, but throughout. This level of care and welcome was obvious throughout the cottage and meant that this has been one of our nicest holiday breaks. The cottage was warm, with full central heating and plenty of hot water. Kitchen was a delight and very well equipped and coped easily with the extra catering needed for Christmas. The separate lounge and dinning room also added to the feeling of space and both were very comfortable. The dinning room, which overlooks the garden, is a good size and very light and airy, even in the middle of December. The pictures on the website are exactly as we found the cottage, not staged (as a ‘show home’) as some properties are. The local pub (Smuggler’s Inn) served good food, was very comfortable and easily walkable. They were a bit stretched when we visited and seemed to have been overtaken by the lunchtime demand, but our food was delicious and delivered hot without any undue delay. The cottage location, for us, was at the extreme end of a reasonable days journey, particularly in the winter, but it was definitely worth the effort. The cottage was easy to find with the directions and, wonder upon wonder, the post code on satnav was to the door! Chris and Clive - thank you for helping us to have a very relaxing Xmas. We have stayed in dozens of cottages, lodges and so on and have had the full range of experiences; from brilliant, well maintained locations, to less desirable locations that we left early from. The Gannets was definitely the former! The first thing to note is that the pictures on all of the websites do not, in any way, do the cottage justice. The place is huge! The main bedroom (upstairs) for example, is more than ample, even with the restricted head room. It’s also comfortable. The beds, the sofa, the other beds, the dining room, the other-other beds! All are good quality. This is not some two-bit holiday home, furnished with the cheapest Ikea can provide, no-no, this is someone’s home, and you can see and feel it in every room. The garden is worth a shout out too, especially for dogs. Again, the scale isn’t well represented in the photos. The location and the sheer amount of love and effort that has been put into this garden is just amazing. I lost hours watching the wildlife that the owner has clearly spent years attracting to the various feeders. So, what’s not to love? The obvious call out here is the showers. Sadly, the en-suite bath was out of commission due to an issue with the plug when we were there, and the shower was stuck on bum-burningly hot. The downstairs bathroom was perfectly functional though, although the water pressure is so low that the show is a little lacklustre. These are issues the owner appears to be aware of however, so would expect them to be repaired soon. That’s the ONLY bad thing I could stay. In fact, the only reason we came back at all is that the we needed to work on Monday. Still, the wife had to hog-tie me and drag me to the car. This is a wonderful location and we have every intention of returning. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

House was good.
House was good. It was very clean and was well supplied with equipment etc. There were four adults in our party so we had a double room and bathroom each which made it easy to get ready. There are two lounge areas, one is a family one with TV, sofas and games. The other lounge is smaller and has a sofa/gold out bed and a TV (with Wii) this was quite handy as our son in law used this in the evenining. The dining room overlooks the garden and we also played board games in there. The garden is quite big with different areas to it. There were a couple of drawbacks - the parking is adequate for 2 cars but is a bit tight, also the road has some big speed bumps, the shower was too hot ( I think this needs looking at as it was actually uncomfortable) there is nothing nearby to go to to buy small supplies, meaning you have to drive but not a major problem. It's well placed to get to Weymouth, Swanage and other places. The owners also left bird food and peanuts for the Badgers which was nice. We saw loads of birds but no badgers! Something ate all the food though. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Spacious and well equipped cottage with lovely garden in idyllic setting. Minor complaint - the 2 downstairs bedrooms have frosted glass doors, not great if one person wants an early night and others are still up with lights on. Overall, would definitely recommend and use again.

This will have been our 9th visit to the Gannets, which speaks for itself really. We just love it, a real home from home and so comfortable. The garden is so pretty, its peaceful and has everything you need. Badger watching at night is fun. I enjoyed sitting in the summer house, soaking up the peace and reading my book. All in all, just perfect.
