My wife and I brought our 3 year old daughter here. We had a great time. The water was perfect. We had her toys but, there were so many games and toys provided she was satisfied. Fishing was good also. Very nice place!
Awesome place to relax and enjoy God’s creation. The Goose House was great; clean and well kept. Loved the location and all it had to offer. Kem and Sandra are gracious hosts. Very glad to have found this little slice of heaven! Definitely will be back.
I couldn’t be happier with this little cottage. From the moment you enter, you feel right at home. Everything is exceptionally clean and the cottage is well stocked with essentials. The dock is a very short walk away and a great place to sit and enjoy the breeze and views. We didn’t have much luck fishing but we sure tried!
Our family was fortunate to have found Kem and Sandra's property. All of us enjoyed the dock immensely, even though my husband and I never even got into the water. Our teenage kids couldn't get enough of the water and the rope swing. The dock is perfectly fitted for crabbing and fishing and we tried both but weren't lucky this time; still had a lot of fun though. We also really liked the Lucano's restaurant which is right down the street; wonderful pizza. All in all a fabulous long weekend and we will be back! Thanks Kem & Sandra!
We had a great time staying at the Goose House. It was extremely clean which is very important to me. The sheets were soft and the towels were thick. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook meals at the house if you choose to, plenty of pot and pans, baking dishes, even a crock pot. We were out and about for most of our stay so we didn’t use the kitchen much, but it was great to know it was all there. We did a lot in Williamsburg and the surrounding areas and the drive was not bad at all. Our kids loved the beach area and pier. Our schedule didn’t leave much time to use it so we would love to come back again when we have more time to relax and enjoy the sand and river.
The cleanest place I've ever stayed! We did great night fishing. Pretty much had everything you could need there. Kids loved kayaks and paddle boards. Got to see a barge go by. Hope to return!
We enjoyed our stay on the York River. Our boys loved the beach and fishing off the dock. Thank you for your welcoming hospitality and sharing your guesthouse!
Easy access to a dock and beach worked well for my mom, a senior citizen, and my young daughter. The place was very clean and tidy. Overall, we had a good stay!
We were welcome by the owners who were super friendly and accommodating.
The little goosehouse was a wonderful stay. When we arrived we heard some questionable sounds but ya cant help the neighbors lol who were miles down the road. The beach part was probably my sons favorite part where he "booped" the crabs. Hoping to return one day. Loved it.
If you want a true get away, this is your place. The dock was amazing. The kids loved to fish, the rope swing and chasing crabs. Kem and Sandra could not have been more accommodating. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.
My family recently stayed at the Goose House and had the best vacation! We were able to cook every meal in the well stocked kitchen and the house was clean and cozy! It had everything we needed! We loved fishing off the dock and swimming each day! My husband played on the rope swing also! Our favorite part was the friendly turtle who lives near the dock who kept popping his head out to say hello whenever we were near. He was our little friend and my 6 year old was sad to leave him at the end of our stay! We celebrated a birthday and Williamsburg was a quick drive away for some shopping on a rainy afternoon. The town of West Point was adorable also. We got some ice cream on main St and went into a charming antique store! We hope to return again, it was a perfect stay for our family! Thank you for sharing the Goose House with us and please say hello to the turtle from us! :)
It was wonderful to wake up with the sun while staying at this beautiful river property. The dock is only around 300 ft from this guest house. The house is appropriately decorated in a lake/beach theme (blue is my favorite color) and makes you feel like you’re truly experiencing a getaway. I had lived in Virginia 20 years and was just getting back for a family reunion during the 4th of July weekend so this place was perfect. Far enough away from downtown Williamsburg and Richmond that I didn’t feel crowded and not too far to go for amenities. I’d definitely book again. The dock and small beach area was a hit. My parents were reunited with their grandson, so many a fishing, kayaking, and crab watching adventure was had over the 4 nights we stayed. Thank you hosts for a wonderful time!
We stayed 3 nights while visiting historic sites in the area. It was wonderful to come back to this tranquil spot along the York River. The Goose House is very well set up, pleasingly decorated, and had everything we needed.
My family and I really enjoyed the peace of being near the water, use of kayaks and proximity to restaurants and stores. The hosts were friendly and helpful, but respected our space.
This guest house was basically a spacious one bedroom apartment. It was comfortable and quiet. The dock and water area was beautiful but chillier so we didn’t utilize the kayaks as originally intended. You definitely should consider a wine flight at the Gauthier Vineyard up there road during your stay.
Very nice house with a beautiful view of the York river. Great location to visit Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We really enjoyed the kayaks and the BBQ and really wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks Sandra.
Although the owners home is visible from the small house, it felt completely private. The home itself although just two rooms was very spacious and equipped very comfortably. The setting is lovely with spacious manicured lawns right on the river, with a beautiful sunrise view.
We so needed a getaway. The cottage is off the beaten path. But well worth it. We needed the solitude and quiet. Travelling to Wiliamsburg was not a long way at all (20-30 minutes). We plan to stay here again.
The property was exactly as described. We loved how relaxing, quiet, and tranquil the property is. Perfect for an intimate getaway!

property clean as a pin but picture included of dock wasn't at all as expected. you had to walk 100-125 yards around owners property to get that vantage, your view looking out of your unit included property owners home and vehicles, wasn't what we expected
