Judy’s clean and comfortable waterfront home was the perfect venue for our extended family’s vacation.
The house afforded ample privacy for each individual family unit, while also providing areas where all of us (six adults and one nearly-two-year-old) could enjoy togetherness for meals, games and reconnecting. Our favorite spot was the porch overlooking Long Island Sound, where we could take in the sea view, spend relaxing mornings sipping coffee, and pass the time on quiet evenings decompressing, talking and enjoying the calming sound of the surf. The early birds among us also took in a beautiful sunrise or two from the porch. Our young grandson especially loved walking down to explore the shore at low tide (closely supervised!), becoming an expert at throwing rocks into the water. Bedrooms were comfortable and nicely appointed; air conditioning units were a great plus in the bedrooms and living area. We also had a great time exploring the area, including swimming and relaxing at nearby Seabluff Beach, driving to New Haven for ice cream and pizza (we have to recommend Modern Apizza), visiting Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport and taking in a concert at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, and heading to Mystic to visit the Aquarium and the Seaport Museum—not to mention filling our bellies at some wonderful local seafood spots!
Our host Judy was super easy to work with, and communication with her was a breeze. We can’t recommend Judy’s inviting Connecticut getaway highly enough.
