"Great little place in a gorgeous town. Very reasonably priced with friendly helpful staff. The town is close to so many fantastic places such as Penola, Coonawarra wineries, national park and beaches at Southend and Beachport. We weren’t planning to visit Penola but did so when a staff member recommended it and so glad we did."

"My stay at DERWENT DELIGHT was highly disappointing. The property lacked cleanliness, with dust and grime covering furniture, beds, linens, and carpets. To make matters worse, the property was plagued by an overwhelming number of spiders and cobwebs. Everywhere, there were webs in corners, ceilings & on furniture. This not only created an uncomfortable living environment but also raised serious concerns about the property's overall hygiene and maintenance. We spent around 2-3 hours cleaning...

"The house is wonderful, with plenty of space to use and comfortable. However, it is extremely important to have some adjustments for the safety of the guests. My father-in-law didn't see the step that connects the kitchen to the living room and ended up falling, thankfully he didn't get hurt. The house needs signage on the steps, a non-slip mat to put in the bathtub, which is slippery, and a manual on how to use the stove, which we ended up not being able to use. "I have stayed in a few homes in Mount Gambier since finding the local hotels overpriced and under-maintained. I work in town somewhat regularly, and the location of this house is perfect in terms of quick access to the major roads and also a short walk into the town center. "The meals were very generous and good pub fare. The room was not heated at all, so be aware in winter it's cold!! An electric blanket would have been helpful. That said, the blankets were warm. Wifi didn't work in the rooms, so we weren't able to watch anything or plan the next day (no tv). Wifi worked in the shared lounge and in the bar. It was clearly a grand hotel in its day, nice that not too much has been modernised. "
