The signage for Hongyuyuan hotel was not obvious, it is easier to find using address. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The place is an ancient building, do not expect perfect heating during winter. Food and massage are nearby, is very convenient. The hotel have an restaurant, the food is not bad"

"The room we stayed in was nice. It was very dusty in Pingyao. I asked for clean towels on the second day of our stay because they were dirty. It was an awkward conversation, clearly they did not want to provide clean towels. In the end they didn’t and we were left to use dusty dirty towels."

"We got here via overnight sleeper train from Xi'an. This hotel has an outdoor courtyard typical of the ancient homes, with charming decor. The hotel restaurant was good, as were some others nearby. It is located on a main shopping street, not far from the South and Central towers/gates. We couldn't stop buying souvenirs!
