Flint House (W), Wighton, Norfolk

Located in the charming village of Wighton, just a seven minute drive inland from the popular maritime resort of Wells-next-the-Sea, Flint House enjoys superb countryside views. Curated in a contemporary coastal style, this detached hideaway is immaculately presented, and perfectly encapsulates blended rural and seaside living.

Flint House is a smart and attractive double fronted property with a traditional flint exterior, and contemporary, stylish interiors. With multiple reception rooms offering flexible and sociable living, three double bedrooms and two bathrooms, this super retreat is ideal for holidaymakers who are looking for comfortable, spacious living in a peaceful village setting. Handy for both rural and coastal North Norfolk, you will find this a great base from which to explore the delights of this beautiful area.

Undoubtedly the impressive open plan dual aspect kitchen/dining/living room that overlooks and opens out into the rear garden is the star of the show. Just take a seat and soak up the open view across meadows and fields as far as the eye can see; it is simply sublime! The well-equipped kitchen has granite topped units offering ample workspace and storage, complimented by a central island with breakfast bar. Just beyond the kitchen is a spacious dining area and a stunning vaulted living area.To the other side of the central hallway, where there is a cloakroom and utility, is a sitting room with cosier proportions and a more intimate feel. Upstairs, the spacious dual aspect master bedroom has extensive built-in storage and a smart shower room. Two further double bedrooms share a family bathroom. Outside, to the front of the house is a gravelled parking area which will easily fit up to three cars. The garden to the rear of the house has 'the view' across the valley and is a lovely place to spend an afternoon relaxing, or enjoy a glass or two as the sun goes down.

If you like to cook and eat in, this is the consummate house - you can enjoy cooking up a feast while chatting to friends and family. If you prefer to eat out, there's no need to hop into the car - just pop over to The Carpenter's Arms, the popular village pub which serves great ale and food to match. For walkers and cyclists, there are plenty of lanes and trails to keep you occupied.

Good sized house in good location
Good location, property lived up to description and pictures. Some slight issues:- cleanliness to some areas, smelly area under sink in kitchen, difficulty with front door key access. Despite these comfortable well equipped property.

Wonderful house
This house is the best we have ever stayed in. We were a family of 4 adults and 2 children and there was loads of space to do our own things. It was a short distance from Wells next the Sea and there was a lovely pub/restaurant next to the house but we didn’t hear any noise whatsoever, great food. Would definitely recommend and would go back.

The best Norfolk stay we've had
Each year we visit the Wells area and have stayed in many locations. Having discovered Flint House we know we have found a real gem. A beautiful, good-sized house with lots of downstairs space, the place is spotless and furnishing are all high end. Located next to the Carpenter Arms - which is a lovely place to visit with fantastic food - it's ideally placed for visits to Wells, Sheringham and the general region. We'll be booking again in the future.

Lovely Break
Positives First - Huge roomy house easy accommodated our 6 . Very well equipped with excellent amenities . Everything you could wish for even down to a wine fridge. TV in every room . Sonos . Open fire . Nice enclosed garden . Grass was cut during our stay and kept in good order. Excellent quality mattresses for a comfy night. Location spot on with a pub next door however closed on Monday and Tuesday's ?? Underfloor heating worked lovely with the air source heat pump with plenty of hot water Negatives - Windows were dirty not just outside but also hand pints internally . Work surfaces in kitchen still had crumbs on them. Pots and pans were either greasy or still had food residue. Walls had knocks on them (hall) which could do with filling and decoration . Sky sports and movies are free however these weren't . Third bedroom door moaned like hell when closing which was great if you wanted to sneak out to use the toilet during the night . I tried to fix it but it needed more than WD40 We didn't read the welcome book till the next day so missed calling Norfolk Gems (cleaners) within the 4 hour window period so didn't want to call as a charge would have been made to us ??? However all in all it was a lovely stay and would return . We filled out the visitor book but didn't feel it was the bet place to air our moans.

A perfect place to stay
What can you say about Flint House other than it is simply fabulous! No expense has been spared in making this property a luxurious place to unwind, relax and enjoy all that the surrounding area has to offer. The house is spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need and more! Under floor heating makes the house really cosy, hot water is constant and the log burner a bonus. Sighting is an ideal base to explore the area. The views are stunning. You have the best of both worlds, staying in a very rural village, yet the sea is only a five minute drive away. The Carpenters Arms next door offers great food, but book in advance as it’s very popular. All in all we had a fantastic stay at Flint House and none of us wanted to leave. Can’t recommend this house highly enough.

A lovely house in a great location
We stayed in Flint House for the first time for W/c 10 Sept and were delighted with the house. It’s spacious and beautifully furnished. There’s a nice garden and plenty of parking. We couldn’t ask for more and have already booked for next year. The only small downside is the close proximity of The Carpenters Arms next door. There is some noise at times but it’s not intrusive. Most of the time there is no impact.

Nice property, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired
Property appears cosmetically clean however it does need a good deep clean. Stains on seating and carpet in dining room/lounge. Filthy window frames with dead insects when all windows opened due to hot weather. Thick dust underneath furniture. Dirty marks on walls. Had to empty hoover as it was completely full and pipe blocked. Too many soft furnishing (throws and cushions) in the property in a Covid pandemic. Are cushions cleaned at any time? Bean bag in lounge/diner a complete waste of time. Feathers from cushions constantly escaping from cushions. Plaster in all rooms of property badly cracked or with holes in. Had to request a mattress protector for one bed when linens changed. No pillow protectors. Not enough bin liners supplied for 2 week stay. Could do with a washing line in rear garden. No shaver socket in any of the bathrooms. No full length mirror.

Beautiful cottage in a great location
We had a wonderful week at Flint House. The location was ideal - just a short drive to the beach at Wells, and close to lots of lovely places like Holkham Hall. The cottage was beautiful and very well suited for 4 adults and a toddler. The garden was especially lovely.

Our second stay at Flint House in less than a year, the views are wonderful, making it very relaxing. Could do with more wine glasses, and coffee percolator broken, other properties we have stayed in recently, whether superior or not have got coffee machines. Excellent sharp knives, chopping boards would be handy. Also some cleaning materials, such as bleach etc should be provided. Customer Service marked to 3 as we received an e-mail threatening to cancel the booking because final payment was overdue when in fact it wasn't.

Superb house in a superb location
A superb week in a great property in and event better location. Flint house provided us with a great base for our week away, yes its needs a couple of bits of attention in the property, blinds fixing, batteries replacing, and a coat of paint here and there. But with the amazing views and superb pub next door, those things quickly don't matter. We would highly recommend this property to anyone, we will be back !!

Beautiful house
Had a great week in this absolutely fantastic home. Superb in every way. Great location with beautiful views across the fields at the back. Look out for the abundance of wild life across the fields, including the Barn Owls. Great place for stargazing too, no light pollution. Can recommend the pub next door for food which was excellent, we visited three times! Don’t let the fact that there’s a pub next door put you off as it’s very unobtrusive and quiet. Would love to go again. The house is perfect, all credit to the owners, and the location is ideal.

A Lovely Spacious House
A lovely spacious house to enjoy a holiday with family or friends. Well equiped, very comfortable and nicely furnished. Ideally situated for walking into Wells or Wallsingham using footpaths and minor roads. The pub right nextdoor is great and does excellent food. Look out for the barn owl flying over the land opposite and in nearby fields!

A lovely Christmas Holiday
We had a fabulous time over the Christmas period. We made good use of the house and all the facilities as well as exploring our surroundings. The pub next door is very good and booking in advance for a meal is recommended.

Good holiday
Flint house was perfect. Spacious welcoming and very family friendly. Everything we needed was provided. There were even crabbing lines and buckets and outdoor toys for the children. Lovely pub next door . Food very good and staff very friendly. What more could you want.

Flint House
We had a wonderful stay at Flint House the house was spotless and the finer details attended to. To arrive finding all your cleaning products hand soap, toilet rolls, tea and coffee AND a pint of milk in the fridge was a wonderful welcome. The setting was in a quiet village overlooking open countryside and next to a pub restaurant which served delicious freshly cooked meals! There were a few minor issues that I raised during our stay that I was concerned were responded to in a efficient timeframe
