(long read)
Come relax and unwind in this spacious, well-appointed home with amenities that allow appreciation for Colorado living but without the mosquitos found elsewhere.
All bedrooms feature:
Beds with 3'' mattress toppers / Desks / Room-darkening curtains / 58 - 65in tv's / Charging cables on each nightstand (Micro-USB, iPhone, USB-C).
The primary bedroom is the perfect spot for working remotely, or not, with a large desk and an additional charging station. It also has speakers that can be hooked in to your phone or laptop. The mattress is a Hybrid, medium-firm. In the spacious primary bath you will find double sinks and a walk in shower as well as a tub/shower combination in the hallway bath.
The kitchen / dining / living area is open and bright, making it the perfect spot to gather whilst engaging in a joyous brouhaha with family and friends. You will find everything you need for cooking meals in-house as well as a large, enclosed pantry. There is a full-size washer and dryer available with detergent provided. Also in the dining room is an area with two 24'' monitors that can be hooked up as additional screens should you need it.
NOTE: Monitors are connected via HDMI to a USB-C splitter. For Mac users, I had issues getting mine to recognize two extra displays using the USB-C so what you could do is unhook one HDMI from the splitter & plug it in directly to your Macbook & use the splitter for the other display. For Windows users, I had no issues at all getting it to recognize two extra displays and you want to go to settings > displays > extend monitor to displays > & then drag monitors in the order you want (1 on bottom, 2 top left, 3 top right).
NOTE: water bottles are in the bottom left cabinet directly across from the dishwasher as well as two (two liter?) bottles and are available for guests to use. These were on clearance & surely to never be $4 again so please ensure the same number of bottles at arrival is equal to the same number of them at departure.
For printing: Try adding it wirelessly on your laptop (be sure to first connect to the home's wifi) but if that doesn't work there is a printer cable in the bottom drawer of the printer stand that hooks in to the back of the printer & then you can run the USB-C end to your laptop, which also has an adapter to go from USB-A (rectangular USB ports) to USB-C (oval USB ports) but please, if you need to take off the adapter, please put it back on afterwards. In the top drawer of the printer stand there is a three-hole punch and a stapler. Second drawer, extra printer paper. Third drawer, printer cable.
The outdoor space at Unwind in Wellington is hard to beat, with three putt-putt style greens, an admittedly average back yard but with a rather decent patio that allows you to enjoy beautiful views and good fun the majority of the time. The yard is fully fenced and backs up directly to an open space and walking path with a gate that allows easy access.
If choosing to spend time indoors, you will still have lots of entertainment options. Roku allows for use of many streaming platforms and hundreds of channels on all televisions throughout the home. Digital antennas instead of rabbit-ears have been installed so local channels come in clear (essential for the the games on Sunday).
The somewhat-finished basement is the perfect place to hang out as well, especially for those avoiding sunlight. It boasts a standard size pool table, foosball, ping pong, a poker table with a full poker set and for those who feel the need to unveil their inner Michael Jordan, a mini-basketball game. There is an extra bed downstairs in case anyone has partied too hard & can't make it up the stairs. In the living room, there is a Monopoly game and a deck of cards, allowing guests to engage in some innocuous hullabaloo & dare I say reminisce about 90's board games.
WiFi: The name and password are posted throughout the home.
CELL RECEPTION: Y'know how cell reception is..... never as good as what they show on the map. Verizon is good at the home, in town and most other places except for Hwy-1 in to Fort Collins where it is very spotty. Good everywhere else unless you hit the hills. I've heard AT&T actually has better reception than Verizon does & hear great things about their coverage around town but a time or two I've heard of poor reception with them. The home has very capable WiFi and will be a treat to anyone - especially those of us that grew up on dial-up (RIP 56k modem's - you did your job as best you could).
HOT WATER: I installed a re-circulation pump and have the automation set to turn the pump on when any bedroom, kitchen or living room light is turned off or on and is set to run for 10 minutes. All the pump does is keep the PEX-A hot water line filled & uses excess pressure to recirculate it via cold-water lines, so that it takes less time to get it at the faucet, sink, shower etc.
POOL NOTE: There is a community pool and for guests to be able to use it I need the full names of everyone wanting to at least 2-3 days before check-in. The pool company will then put you on a list & I 've been told they check and ID when you get there. Although it's only one street over it is almost a 1/4 mile walk (1,280ft per google maps).
EXTRA LUGGAGE FOR SALE: I have accumulated 4 pieces of airline-style luggage that are kept in the basement utility room and are available for purchase of $5 for a small one and $10 for a larger one, in case you're flying in and intend to bring things back with you. Just let me know which one's you choose. There is a brown-ish looking purse type of thing, which I hereby make no claims of knowledge of or it's potential uses, also $5.
LOCAL AREA:
Wellington is a charming, growing community. With several local breweries and restaurants, as well as fast food options, you don’t have to travel far to find delicious offerings. Fort Collins is also an easily accessible option and a larger town with a wide variety of food, world class breweries, theaters, live music venues and miles of hiking and bike paths (about a 15 minute drive to the southwest). Unwind in Wellington is 35 minutes south of Cheyenne, WY and approximately one hour north of Denver.
