The staff was amazing and the copper swan was quite through out the day and has amazing scenery and plenty of lounging areas outside to read a book under the leaves. The place we stayed in was very clean and felt like home.

We were greeted by John (the owner?). He's very personable and sincere. John noticed that I had mobility problems and, on his own initiative, moved my wife and me to a room that was more accessible than the one we had booked. John also gave us some good dining tips. A very nice person in every way.

I rarely write negative reviews. This place deserves a negative review. I stayed in the Carriage House. Temperature 61-63 degrees. No way to heat it. Breakfast came for one rather than two. It was a rotten banana and a muffin. There is no front desk or attendant. When we complained to the groundskeeper, the only person around. He said, if we had complained earlier, we would have been given a heater. It was rainy and cold outside. No one thought to give us a heater. If you have to complain to get normal things, there is something wrong with the place.

Wonderful property! Location was close to a lot of fun activities and the place itself was very pretty, with many beautiful outdoor seating areas you wouldn’t find anywhere else. The owners are excellent and my stay was top tier due to the care they put into small details. If you’re in Wellfleet definitely stay here.

A hotel with style and character. Original features and decorated with quality and tasteful furniture. Lovely deck and seating outside. As it’s an old refurbished building the rooms are attractive but fairly small. Breakfast is delivered to the room but there is no small table to sit at so a bit awkward to eat. Fine in good weather as you can take it to the deck.

Very strange stay from beginning to end. I spent time looking at the venue and looking at rooms based on size and quietness of location on property. My partner and I settled on the carriage house because it would be away from the main house. A few days later I had few missed calls ans a text from "John at the copper swan in" confirming I would not be bringing a dog with me. I was really thrown off because I do have 2 dogs, but planned to leave them at home. John said no problem he would upgrade us to a king Suite, and I said no problem if it had the same over 200sq footage and I stressed that. When I arrive there was no one to greet us, but papers with info on room #, a key, wifi information, and that a breakfast basket would be provided in the AM. I went up the main house to the room and it was TINY I did not the the sq ft I wanted and the room was in the middle of the main house. I went down to get things sorted and John was really snippy and rude about the situation. He did e d up putting me in the room I booked originally in the carriage house. What I later realized is he was trying to accommodate extra guests that had pets as the main house is not pet friendly. We were bringing our toddler and needed the space for her pack and play and to roam around. The outside of the carriage house is stunning, but the inside was disgusting. Dead bugs in every corner (see photos). You can see that the room never received a good cleaning.

Overall very pleased with my stay, friendly staff, room/property very clean. Only issue was the check in/out was not clearly explained and I initially had trouble finding my room prior to asking a staff member and they were still cleaning it upon check in time which delayed my plans. I was on the third floor and you could feel the heat radiating from the ceiling which made it HOT. Luckily I was out of the room till late and getting back/overnight the AC was able to cool it down but it was unpleasant upon arrival. That aside, I would recommend staying here and would again!
