I booked this place b/c it was advertised 2 bedrooms. At check in, the house was as pictured. Walking up I noticed a small & large Hornet's nest near the stairwell & front door. A window AC unit was in the front room set at 74. It couldn't be lower than 70. There were live bugs and cobwebs throughout the house. There were 2 bathrooms but NOT 2 bedrooms. 1 bedroom with a King & a "loft" with 2 twin beds. The "loft" was in the space that is traditionally an attic in an A frame house. The stairs were attached to the wall. I had to lift them & attach to a brace to use them. They are in the middle of the living area if "down" all the time. The stairs were so steep & it was SO HOT!! EASILY 90+ degrees & humid. The king was hot w/ no air circulation. My friend slept on the daybed in front of the AC, the only cool space. I messaged the host several times w/ the issues he said the 2nd bedroom was the loft. There is no door or closet. I asked for a fan & was told to get one from the loft or garage & open the windows. The loft window wouldn't stay open. He did install an AC unit in the loft the next day & attempt to make it right but it was still so hot in the king room. The beds except the king were old & uncomfortable giving my friend back pain every day. The # of beds was incorrect as well. There was 1 king, 2 full, 2 twins & a couch. Beware this property is 1 bedroom & a "loft." I hate I spent so much $$$. No compensation provided other than an AC unit. I am very disappointed.

For a Pet Friendly option, Larry-the Host, and the property were just right for us. It is filled with beautiful art, by the owners! We have stayed in more luxurious cabins, but for the VALUe, this is it! To hear the stream running outside in the brook, it was perfect.

Distance makes good neighbors
I don't like sharing a house with others -- particularly a guy who sat outside on his porch smoking -- I couldn't be on my deck, which was directly above his porch, during that time. He was a nice guy, and fortunately was only there one of my five nights. I would have been quite miserable had he stayed and continued to smoke there. Great location in terms of proximity to town, to Ashville and even close-by hikes.

When can we go back?
We LOVED this property. It gave our family the right space to enjoy each other’s company (& space away when we needed it). The creek was a blast for the kids and the location made it easy to get to so much. Book it ASAP. It’s a winner.

Charming and cozy coach house
Larry and Teresa are great hosts. Communication was always clear and courteous. The Ox Creek coach house is really charming and set in a great location. There are beautiful farms, deer, turkey in the immediate area, the blue ridge parkway is right around the corner, wonderful hiking is all over the area, and a great family owned restaurant, The Stoney Knob, is very close by. The accommodations in the coach house are very comfortable and easily housed our group of five. This was my first trip to the area and staying here made it enjoyable for everyone. I hope to come back again.

Nice family get-away
This is the first trip for my young boys to the mountains and we stayed here based on a recommendation from my parents. The unit was perfect for the boys (they slept in the loft) and there was plenty of room for them to play on the porch, there was even a baby gate attached to the steps! It was very clean and there was everything you could need already there. The creek that ran beside the house was perfect for the boys to play with their boats and discover the local "critters". It was very peaceful, very clean and very nicely equipped. The only thing that I regret is that we had to return home. I could see spending more time there soaking up the mountain air, walking the streets of the quaint town of Weaverville and riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway which is all within a very short distance.
