On our private beach front you will find a two person canoe and life jackets(take it down the Crooked River!) . We are located just 25 minutes from Sunday River and Mt Abrams. There is a trail right out the door for hikes, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiles. The quite country roads offer a perfect place for biking.
We have plenty of parking . The long private road is professionally cleared and maintained year round. We have a wonderful mother-daughter team that take great pride in keeping the houses clean and organized for each new guest. We have a full house water filtration system, plenty of hot water and brand new washer/ dryer. The road is well maintained and plowed .

Spring is also lovely as our gardens start to come to life and wildlife reappears. Take a long bike ride on quiet Maine roads with spectacular scenery.

A few days off
This was a great place to get away for a few days. did some kayaking and some hanging out in the pond/lake, and had a beautiful sunset one night. Unfortunately, I was there during the heatwave and the only air conditioner is in the bedroom and was not able to keep up with the extreme heat, but that's probably not an issue very often in Maine.

Cozy cabin
We loved this cozy cabin. It had a rustic feel but was updated enough to be comfortable. Location was great, felt isolated but still close enough to town. Peace and quiet on the frozen lake. The kids loved the little reading nook upstairs. There were plenty of games and toys for them, and they loved tuning in the antique radio. We loved sitting by the gas stove. Bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. There were some minor issues that didn’t significantly detract from our stay (no tissues or washcloths, only one dish towel). Make sure you have 4WD in the winter, although the road was nicely plowed. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect getaway
When you think of a cabin in the woods this is it. This is my 3rd year there and I already can’t wait to go back. The kitchen is stocked great if you want to cook or Norway is close and has neat places to check out. The deck is perfect to relax and read or take a nap. The views of the lake can’t be beat. Sunsets are amazing there. Linens and towels provided is a huge plus as well. Another great thing location wise- there’s great hiking close by. All I can say is perfect New England getaway.

Woods of Maine
My wife and I had many great camping trips with our children at Papoose Pond in Waterford Maine. We wanted to mimic the Maine camping experience but now live in Florida and sold the camper years ago. This beautiful little cabin right on Papoose Pond provided us the opportunity to do this. We had campfires, fished in the pond, cooked lobsters, and met the neighbor's cat. It was exactly what we hoped for but with a lot more luxury. Thje cabin had everything we needed and it comes just as advertised. The only word of caution, the steps up to the bedroom are a little bit narrow and steep. We would definitely book another trip to the Woods of Maine. Thanks to Chris and Rebecca.

Cottage at the Grove Great House
The house was clean and we are thankful there was an air conditioner and multiple fans. Such a muggy and hot summer! The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Lots of interesting art work. It's a very quiet pond and neighborhood, which was nice. We used the canoe and kayaks. There are a lot of geese around that like to come onto the property. beautiful sunsets!

This cabin is a treasure!
My friends and I stayed for the weekend to cross-country ski and sight-see. This cabin was perfect! Located in a beautiful area with easy access to RT 35 and 118. The cabin was easy to find and the road was well-plowed. The beds were comfortable and the house was well-heated. The owners were very easy to contact and made several recommendations to us re: local food and activities. We would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!

Where to start? The amazing sunsets, the bald Eagle that flys by or the picture perfect cabin itself? Loved everything about the stay and can’t wait to get back.

Sublime!
Low-key and comfy cabin in an absolutely idyllic setting. Everything we needed was there. A kayak and a canoe were also provided for exploring a refreshing lake that was also perfect for swimming. Two small suggestions: Stronger lighting (especially given the great library of summer reading!) and also maybe some tips about suggestions for nearby restaurants, activities, and places to explore. [We found them anyway, but a laminated sheet with ideas would have been helpful.]

The reason they call Maine “Vacationland”
Because of 2020, we had some serious cabin fever… so we decided to fix that by staying for a week in a cabin! And what a perfect getaway it was! The location was great, close enough to the coast and Sebago Lake and other attractions, but far enough out to feel secluded. Papoose Pond was quiet and provided a gorgeous view from the house. We loved taking a morning canoe ride and swimming. The cabin was full of original art, well stocked with kitchen utensils and cookware, and perfectly cozy. The owner was very responsive and communicative too. We will surely be back one day!

Cozy Cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay tucked in next to the snow covered lake. We were able to snowshoe and cross country ski around the lake and at nearby trails. The cabin’s kitchen was well-equipped for home cooking and the gas stove gave us a cozy place to curl up and play games/cards.
