Do Yourself A Huge Favor; Avoid This Stop
Where do we begin? First of all, we had amazing difficulty finding the place after driving 14 hours from Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. When we arrived, the heat was on and we weren't able to figure that out until a day later when the owner came to see and brought a window unit for the kitchen, which actually made our month stay bearable. The driveway is a full stop on a highly trafficked Vermont 100 and then a sharp left turn. Super dangerous and not recommended! Then, the towns are small, if you like that kind of thing. Waterbury, Stowe, and Waterbury Center where this old farmhouse sits. Montpelier is 20 minutes away, but it doesn't compare to Burlington. The garbage was never taken out, so it stank to high heaven. The promised washing machine and dryer were absent, as was the hot tub. We stayed a month, and had to ask for clean towels and sheets, but the host lives an hour away and it took her a while to get them to us. Then, there was the internet which went off line three times, and we were dependent on it for jobs and permanent housing. There were not enough garbage bags. The only plus was the cold mountain water which tasted clean and delicious. The place is also pet friendly, and we have a cat. All in all, though, if you can find ANYWHERE else to stay if you happen to be in that area, do that. Neither the host nor the owner know what they are doing. Don't be deceived by the cute pictures of a rustic cabin. It's a horrible place and WAY overpriced for what it is.
