Our stay at the Bradley over Spring Break was disappointing and stressful. The house is old and “quirky”, but the real issues were with cleanliness and functionality.
We arrived on Monday to find an issue with one of the 2 bathrooms that rendered the bathroom unusable and it was clear that neither bathroom had been cleaned. The 2nd floor bathroom was clogged and unusable. There was excrement left in the toilet. I reached out to the host via the VRBO app and the host did contact me that evening to attempt to remedy the situation. Eventually, the host scheduled a plumber for the following day, but we did not have a useable bathroom until the following afternoon. Instead of relaxing on vacation with family. Once the bathroom was fixed, we had to clean up the mess left behind.
In addition, the number of useable beds and bedrooms does not match the property description. Most significantly, one of the bedrooms on the main floor is not fully functional. You cannot plug anything into the outlets in that room and cannot use the lights for any length of time. Also, two of the beds, listed as double beds in the property listing, are really single pull-out chair futons in the basement.
Finally, a clarifying note - while the property is about a 5-10 minute walk to the edge of the Bethesda downtown area, it is more like a 20 minute walk to the Bethesda metro.
In conclusion, I would absolutely not recommend booking this rental.
