Comfortable very clean place in great neighborhood
Our hosts were very thorough in communicating to us leading up to our stay. The location is a few minutes walk through a nice neighborhood to the Metro. We would have liked direct thermostat temp control, but temp was ok while we were there.

This place was just what we needed after a long day of sightseeing. It felt safe, comfortable, and it was well furnished. We especially enjoyed the soft mattresses on both the futon and in the bedroom. The off street parking was a huge plus. Practically speaking, there was a full grocery store and a Metro within walking distance.

A Great Experience, An Excellent Host
A fabulous experience overall staying at this property. Clean, in overall great condition and at a reasonable distance to the DC Metro are just a few positive points. Our host, Dan, was an excellent communicator and VERY good with helping us when needed. I would not hesitate stay here again if we were to come back to the DC area.

Had a great time in DC at this property. Dan was helpful and checking in with us. A short walk to subway and a bus stop right across the street made getting around without car pretty easy. Comfortable stay for 4 people in our family.

The overall experience was great! The location is about 7 blocks to the metro and a CVS. Check-in/out was easy and having the lock box there helped the comings and goings as different times since there was only one key.

Great apartment, great location!
My stay at the English Basement was flawless! The host Dan is a super nice guy. I literally have no complaints. The apartment is great, very nicely renovated, sparkling clean and also spacious. I stayed for two weeks with my 10 year old son (just the two of us), but the space could accommodate a family of four. There is a separate bedroom (yes a full bedroom, with a closet, window and locking door) which was really great to have privacy as needed. We were greeted with bottled water, snacks, plastic ware - which was really needed and greatly appreciated. The apartment only had a little fridge and microwave, which was challenging for a long stay. I ended up getting a rice cooker and kettle to make more complete meals. The yard in the back is large and private. Very nice area to hang outdoors. I travel regularly to DC, and already booked another stay! Thanks Dan!
