Check-in is smooth sailing with digital self check-in—you’ll receive your unique access code after completing the required guest verification.
No verification, no entry (even the sea has rules 🏴‍☠️), so please complete that step ahead of your arrival to avoid any delays.

🏡 You’ll be staying in Surf Pines, a private, gated community with code-only entry and 24/7 security monitoring. Peaceful, safe, and perfect for your coastal escape.

🚗 You’ll have parking for up to 4 vehicles in the driveway.
Please remember:

No parking on the street, lawn, or in the garage

RV’s, boats, and commercial vehicles are not allowed for vacation rental guests (blame the HOA, not the mermaids)

6 stunning beach trails

Private lake access for paddling, floating, or peaceful morning reflections

A spacious half-acre of property to roam, relax, and maybe spot a few elk or eagles

🌲 Welcome to Surf Pines – a hidden gem on Oregon’s North Coast where elk roam freely, the breeze smells like saltwater and adventure, and the neighbors might just have feathers or antlers.

This gated coastal community is tucked between Warrenton and Gearhart, just minutes from Astoria and Seaside. With the Pacific Ocean to the west and Sunset Lake to the east, Surf Pines is perfectly sandwiched between beach days and lake play.

There are two gated entries to keep things peaceful and private:
🔐 One off Highway 101 north of Gearhart (Surfpines Lane)
🔐 One off Highway 101 south of Warrenton (near Sunset Lane)

Inside the gates? It’s all quiet roads, towering trees, and wild beauty. Elk, deer, pheasants, eagles, and seagulls call it home—and for a while, so will you. 🦌🦅🌊

We’re so happy you’re considering a stay at Swallow the Anchor! Our beach + lake home is a guest favorite, and we’re proud to share it. But… (and there’s always a “but,” right?) in order to keep our little slice of coastal heaven available for future guests, we kindly ask that you follow a few important rules. They're a mix of house rules, community standards, and county regulations—aka, the Big Three—and they’re all here to protect our permit and keep Surf Pines a welcoming place for everyone.

💡 Before You Arrive…
We require guests to complete a quick 3-minute guest screening through our secure partner, Autohost. This helps verify your identity and prevent fraud—no awkward security deposits required. Think of it like TSA PreCheck, but for beach houses. It helps us get better insurance coverage and ensures we're not unknowingly renting to that one guy banned from every cabin in Oregon.

You'll need:

A valid government-issued ID

The credit card used to make the booking
This is also required by our HOA (Surf Pines Association), not just us. You’ll be in good company—our neighbors appreciate it!

🌊 House + County + HOA Rules
Let’s break it down, nicely but clearly:

Minimum age to book: 25. (If you’ve recently graduated, congrats! But we’re not the spot for your post-finals celebration.)

Maximum occupancy: 8 people, including all children and visitors. Please don’t try to “divide and conquer” across nearby homes. If you're bringing more, just ask us first—no sneaky sleepovers, please!

Smile—you’re on camera! Exterior surveillance only, 24/7. It keeps everyone honest, safe, and compliant.

No parties, period. Please don’t book this home for others or host an event without our approval.

No smoking anywhere on or near the property. That salty sea air smells better anyway.

No drugs of any kind, even if legal. We’re keeping things G-rated.

No pets or therapy animals—our kiddos have allergies, and local wildlife gets territorial.

Max 4 vehicles in the driveway. No street parking, RVs, boats, or business vehicles. Surf Pines is strict about this.

Quiet hours: 10 p.m. – 8 a.m. Think campfire vibes, not concert energy.

Shoes off, please! Help us preserve the carpets by going barefoot or sock mode indoors.

Celebrating something special? Let us know in advance. Weddings, birthdays, and reunions need prior approval.

Speed limit in Surf Pines: 25 MPH. Roads are narrow and monitored. Slow and scenic wins the race!

You’ll get a private gate code—treat it like a front door key. You’re responsible for anything that happens using it.

Stick to public paths for lake and beach access. No wandering through others’ yards, tempting as that might be.

No fireworks, hunting, or shooting. Beach bonfires are OK—just keep them on the sand, not the lawn.

🚨 A Quick but Important PSA
We are able to host you because we have a Clatsop County permit—but that permit can be revoked if we receive complaints or if our rules aren't followed. We really want to keep sharing this home, so we take violations seriously.

Fines: $250 per violation, per day

Evictions: Yes, we will evict guests for serious violations—no refunds

Liability: If your actions lead to neighbor complaints or permit risk, we’ll hold you financially responsible for all damages, expected or not

By booking this property, you agree to all of the above. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation—it means the world to us (and our neighbors!).
