"Black and White Retreat was just perfect for us with all amenities we needed. Clean, comfortable (great, comfy bed). Great location, quiet and only a short, flat walk to the beach and even quicker to the boat ramp. Great outdoor spaces which was wonderful for when the family arrived for a beach day and accommodated 11 of us for a pre dinner drink really easily. Playground just up the road for the grandchildren...perfect. Host Sue is lovely making us feel welcome and very comfortable. Will be...

"A lovely Bach to hang out in as we attended a family wedding. An easy walk to the Mangawhai town and shops, and lovely board walk along the estuary. No view but peaceful, and a lovely neighbour who helped us out with a torch during a power cut and loaned us her ironing board."

"Very disappointed, we were double booked. Told to wait outside In the dark with no explanation for 20 minutes. Admittedly a room was prepared for us upstairs in main house however we had to share bathroom with family and the room was so small we had to leave out suitcase outside the door. Parking was difficult as it a very steep drop off from the road."
