River Cottage a country retreat in wooded gardens

Summary:
Our gorgeous cottage sits a stone's throw from the River Frome and is superbly located for the beaches of the Jurassic Coast - including the iconic Durdle Door. There are wonderful walking and cycling routes on the doorstep and our lovely wooded gardens are perfect for losing the kids. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, a living room with log burner and a newly fitted kitchen with all you would need. The master bedroom has an en suite and there is a further family bathroom, downstairs toilet, utility room and dining room as well.

The Space:
There is plenty of parking, central heating and all linens are provided for you. Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they stay downstairs and off of the furniture - please keep an eye on them in the garden though as it is not secure and we are close to the road and railway line.

Guest Access:
Guests will have the whole property to themselves.

The Neighborhood:
We enjoy a wonderful setting just off the the A352 - and enjoy great access to Wareham, Poole and great beaches like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Great walking and cycle routes are straight out of the door adjacent to the River Frome.

Getting Around:
We are just located just off of the A352 between Wareham and Wool. Loads of great walks on the doorstep.

Other Things to Note:
Children - more than welcome - but please keep an eye on them in the garden ( a determined child could get through the hedges ) as it is not full secure and there is a road and railway line and a river near by.

Dog owners - the gardens are not fully secure and dogs can escape through the hedges so please keep an eye on them as we are close to the road and railway line . £25 pet fee - 2 dogs max

High speed WI Fi

Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage
We stayed from Weds to Sun. of half term week. Adult daughter's birthday at Monkey World (fabulous) and we had a lovely comfy time having lunches out (Swanage, Corfe Castle, Studland, Lulworth) and back to relax in the evenings. Well equipped, 3 loos and with all drawers full of things! Owner promptly answered our queries. Car required to make the most of the location.

lovely cottage
Cosy little cottage tucked away in beautiful rural setting. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely part of the world. Small kitchen very well equipped and well appointed bathrooms. Beds are very comfortable and the lounge is quite spacious with antique furniture. Dining room is tiny and intimate and the cottage surrounded by a beautiful but wild garden. Fascinating books everywhere.

Lovely short break
A lovely stay during the hot weather in this secluded cottage. ( apart from the trains!). A time capsule with updated kitchen and bathrooms . Clean and tidy rooms , plus the beds were very comfortable. Convenient for nearby Wareham and short journeys to Swanage and Studland beaches.

Short Break
Took my mum who is 91 for a short holiday. The cottage was clean and quiet. Everything you need was available in the property. Location was perfect for days out and lots to see/do locally.

Characterful country cottage in a great location
We enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It was full of character and a great location to explore the area, including some of the well known sights of Dorset e.g. Durdle Door, Swanage, Corfe Castle (and the garden centre down the road was great too!). The house's garden was great and the train and road not a problem. However, although it states children are more than welcome, facilities for young children were not available - no highchair/travel cot. We also had to do some cleaning on arrival, especially in the kitchen/utility. A small thing - the TV remote was broken on arrival but seemed to have not been resolved following previous occupancy and despite us raising it again, was not fixed. There were a few other little things that could have been improved. We raised these with the management company but sadly received no reply after our stay. Great location and house but aspects could be improved a little.

Fascinating cottage in a central location in Dorset. A nice mix of old and new inside. With lots of personal touches inside as if the owner just moved out to let us stay. With three bedrooms it is a very practical place for a small family group. It's definitely on our list for a return visit to that part of the country.

Lovely Cottage
This was a lovely property. Snug and full of books to read, i felt i was in a library. If you like to read and enjoy the garden and being away from it all this is a great place to stay. You really felt the history. Being together and enjoying our time with each inside and outside the house. Clean, tidy and had all we needed. This was a nice base to branch out from, castles in one direction, Wareham town, The Blue Pool, and a nice Indian down the road. The fireplace was an experience and a fond memory I shall treasure.
