However, our otherwise enjoyable experience was let down by the lack of attention to detail, in terms of house-keeping and maintenance/repair. When paying a top-end price (about 7k for 4 nights) it was disappointing that several lights did not work (including bathroom lights, dining room main light, bathroom mirror light), the Aga never got up to cooking temperature even after 4 days...

"The property has a high standard, there are a few things however that could be improved on. Wardrobe space is sadly lacking and could be placed on the landing. Also a chair in the bedroom. Please dont be so stringy with the toilet rolls. Willprobably"

"Aldi Morrisons and McDonald's are a couple of mins drive. Restaurants and shops 10 mins slow walk but car park also near by shops. Comfortable stay, we used as a base for biking 15 miles round Rutland water. Double bedroom on ground floor with toilet by the door. Then another double on top floor with ensuite shower room. A twin room and a bunk bed room with main bath room and over bath shower. Very good for large families. We didn't use the kitchen because chippy was also good near by. "

"We visited Stamford from the US with my father, who is almost 80, as well as my sister and our children (ranging from 1-15) because my father had gone to boarding school there and we were on a memory lane trip. The house was excellent - fabulous old charm in the house, but all had been renovated so the kitchen and bathrooms and such were new. The location was perfect and the beds were comfortable! "
