Superb "Inn Style" accommodation. Above a local pub so access to food really easy. Cosy well kept room with fridge, very comfy bed and clean bathroom.
Really close to the main town, shops, places to eat.

Bedroom very small . Bathroom size adequate but sink did not drain well and toilet had weak, inadequate flush.
Had to access room by narrow steep staircase via the garden. Garden sounds good but just area of outside tables for the smokers.
Breakfast was served at restaurant opposite The Royal.
Breakfast was good. Wish we had stayed there.
Staff are super friendly and helpful!!! it is old so you have to expect things don't work like new (part of the charm of the place) only stayed 1 night but would recommend. would have loved to try the pub but we were tired from travel
This was our second stay here and it is comfortable and Luke was very accommodating and we left our luggage a bit earlier than check in time which was a big help. Our breakfast was a hamper with granola, croissant and fresh orange juice. There was a small fridge and tea and coffee.

Very warm and friendly welcome from Lynne and her dog Beau. Very friendly locals and an obviously very popular pub with good food and drink.

Disliked: Room comfort
I stayed three nights and each night woke uo 3-4am because of the cold. No heating and i needed all clothes to go through the night. Very unpleasant and not providing the rest I needed during my business trip.
Not sure if i use the app wrong, but mo ody reacted to my message asking for longer heating.
The room was spacious and clean.
Very quiet, clean, and comfortable room. Slept well after a long walk. Steep stairs, which I’m perfectly fine with, but to be aware of if it’s a challenge for you!
Convenient for a wide choice of places to eat in Wallingford
picked the smallest room which was just big enough, but had a great view of the small rose garden. good location but no onsite parking, staff was wonderful. Breakfast cost 12 pounds but was worth it.
Seemed a bit busy/disorganised during the booking and payment process so I was a little worried but it seemed this was due to a change of management and all was fine. If fact, they were very helpful in amending our booking and carrying luggage etc. The room was quaint and quirky, quite quiet and comfortable.
Great little pub with decent rooms in Wallingford. Comfortable room and the brekkie was v good (specified exact ingredients the night before). Lynne was very friendly and hospitable and particularly friendly to my hound Rufus!
Very nice and cozy bedroom at the top floor of the building. everything was clean and cozy! Surrounding area does not allow you to park.
Check out: no instruction on where to leave the keys...
Overall, I would very recommend it!
Location is great!! Easy 5 minute walk to everything. Room was one of the absolute best we’ve had in UK. Luke was a staff member and was superb! If I could hire someone like that for my business I’d do it in a heartbeat. Breakfast was continental but was so good & way past continental. We were Thames Pathway hikers & greatly recommend this lodging!
This pub accommodation was in the perfect location for our visit to Oxford and family. The parking is several blocks away but with easy access. There are a lot of narrow steps to get to the room. The beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning, but the windows open and that helps. It is above the street and pub so can get noisy and there are bright lights outside the room. We would stay there again.

Delightful stay
The welcome was good, and assistance was given with taking our luggage up the stairs. Room 2 is a good size with an amazingly comfortable large bed. The towels are large, and the toiletries good enough. Best of all, they are not attached to the wall. Great hot water in a bath or shower, with a safety mat. Fridge, tea, coffee, kettle and biscuits. Nice hanging space and hooks as well. Two issues that needs to be dealt with...the stairs are narrow and steep with poor lighting. The latter just needs adjusting. Check in is at 3.00 when the pub opens. It's not clear how to manage an early check-in or leaving luggage as the accommodation has changed hands. Some further information is needed for guests who booked under the previous ownership. I'd stay at the Coachnans Arms again...and again. Oh, lots of eating places nearby!
