Tatbern Park is owned by Jason & Lisa Martin, it was purchased 51 years ago by Lisa’s father Paul Barnett and is where Lisa grew up and spent many lovely family Christmas lunches on the veranda in the cottage. Before the Barnett family owned Tatbern Park the Parish family were the original owners, they ran the largest diary here and it's still is standing 120 years later all the timber that it was used to built the diary came off the farm, they also did a lot of cropping growing millet and grains in silos that the grain were stored in are made from cement that go down underground and still are in good condition now. There were many animals on the farm as they needed to be self-sufficient so pigs, chickens, cows etc were all roaming freely but they also needed to work the farm to plant the crops as tractors were not available so they bred heavy working horses to pull the machinery and make the large dam that you see today out the front of the cottage it was dug out with horse and scoop 150 years ago. The house you are staying in was originally the Sunday school teacher's house and the building you can park your cars in next to the cottage was where the children went to school, you might notice in the TV room the corner or the room just behind the French door the floor drops off a little this was where the teacher would play her piano to the children. Tatbern Park was named by Lisa’s father he was a Adverting Agent who had incredible foresight the name is Lisa’s surname Barnett mixed up but originally the farms name was Noel as it was found at Christmas time from the Parish family. Lisa and Jason Martin now own and run Tatbern Park as a going farm with Angus Cattle and horses, Lisa who has been competing with her horses since she was 4 has represented Australia on many occasions in Dressage as a able bodied rider as well as a Paralympian at her first Paralympics in Rio 2016 placing 4th in her three tests, World Equestrian Games 2022 and now Lisa has just returned from competing at the Paris Paralympics placing 5th and x2 6th with her horse Vilaggio. Lisa would like her guests to enjoy this very special property and feel free to ask any questions regarding the history of the farm.
