"Our room was beautiful with a spectacular view. The staff could not be more helpful. The shuttle bus was a bonus that we didn’t expect. The food was delicious. The only minor downside was the colour (grey) and size of the pool - although it was always spotlessly clean it appeared a bit murky. However, it wasn’t - it was just that it was painted grey. "

"Pleasant stay but many nicer places in Hermanus. 10 minute walk to town. Owner was rather intense in communications. Parking not easy to get in or out of tho we were lucky and got the one more accessible space. Although spa and free bike rentals mentioned in Hotels.com information there was no sight or mention of either.on site . "

"I love the hardwood floors, doors&windows, and creaky stairway to the guestrooms. The rooms are meticulously appointed and each has a walkout to the veranda. This lodge is only 2-3 mins. walking to Gordon's Bay beach! The staff - Manager Sonja and her helpers Cynthia and Kudzai, could not possibly have been sweeter. And dear me!... The home-cooked breakfasts, including eggs, cereals, toast&butter and marmelaides, as well as coffee, tea and fruit juice... make for a perfect way to start the day...

"The Abalone Lodge is a beautiful property in a magnificent setting overlooking a captivating seascape with a private gate leading to walking paths. The staff was amazing, the food was gourmet level including the breakfast choices. The rooms are very comfortable. I would love to stay here again but next time for whale season. The Aboline Lodge is definitely the perfect place to stay for whale watching or any time when you need to relax and be pampered. "
