"We enjoyed staying at Dragonfly Farm. Hostess was very welcoming! Beautiful avocado farm with chickens & goats & cat! We loved the attached backyard deck for morning & night hangout, beautiful views! And florally fragrant air was unbelievable. Kitchen is well equipped for meal making. It’s a 1 bedroom as bunk beds are in main room. King bed was very comfortable! Host and hostess share beach chairs, masks, towels are convenience- perfect! Many beautiful and less busy beaches not far away. Loved the location away from Kona-busy. "

"The property is a cute cottage that reminds you of your Grandma’s house. It was a great price and close to the beach and Volcano park isn’t too far so it was Perfect for me. The host is very friendly and met me at the cottage when I arrived. "

"Here you will find a home surrounded by a beautiful garden with a very large covered deck overlooking the ocean to the west. Stunning sunrises, warm breezes, and a canopy of stars and the Milky Way at night uninhibited by city lights. The home is as described, but more. Comfortable, welcoming and everything you would need. You experience a bit of the homeowners love of this island in the decor and gardens. For us, the location was ideal - away from the popular beaches, tourist shops, etc. Here you are close to The Volcanic National Park and many “gem” locations listed in travel guides. This is Kau coffee country (look up the history of the emergence of Kau coffee and Kona coffee). We enjoyed farm/fruit stands, local markets, and wonderful local places to eat and find local artist creations. The aloha spirit was so welcoming as we talked with locals. Hilo and the other side of the island is easily accessible. Go, see, experience... Hawaii, e noho mau ana oe iloko o ko'u naau a me na moeuhane. A hui hou kakou. "We stayed at this property for 10 days in Oct and had a marvelous time. Pros: - very clean - nice touches like good quality draperies, dishes and bedding, good appliances and well stocked kitchen. It is not fancy, but nice - good communication with hosts; friendly people but not intrusive - jaw dropping panorama views of the lush slope, with the ocean beyond and magical sunsets - veranda is not pictured in the photos and it was better than expected: quite large with decent furniture including small dining table as well as coffee table and chairs, and 2 comfy lounge chairs. - Even if it was 29 or 30 degrees celsius during the day, it cooled off nicely at night. In fact some nights we had to close the windows as it was a bit too cool for us. I wished I had brought a sweater for the evenings, but there were blankets in a trunk - this is a rural area so you will hear frogs, neighborhood dogs, goats/ sheep bleating. With the dawn the roosters start to crow. What you won't hear is annoying people noise. Cons: - The road to Kona is a very curvy, but has reflectors which makes it doable in the dark. Arriving late in the dark it was a bit tricky finding the right door -if you plan to see Volcano Park / S Point, as well as Kona this is a great halfway point. If you plan to do most of your activities in the Kona area or N, expect to drive that curvy road alot. Affordable groceries were an hour north. Our favorite beach was Kahalu'u, which was 45 min north."
