Very functional hotel
Really helpful staff and a great place to visit Petra from. Short journey into Wadi Musa, where the entrance to Petra is. Reasonably basic rooms but provided everything we required for our stay.

Average hotel not far from Petra
We stayed here for 1 night while visiting Petra in late October. We had several issues: 1. Contrary to the description on hotels.com, there was no working Wi-Fi in the room. When I asked at reception I was told that Wi-Fi is only available near reception. 2. No hot water was available for having a shower in the evening. Hot water only became available in the morning. 3. The surcharge for using a credit card was very high. Breakfast had a limited range. Juice glasses were not available until the end of our meal, even though we asked a couple of times. Only instant coffee is available, but the milk provided was off and curdled in the coffee. I could not touch it. They also offer buffet dinner for an additional charge. The dinner had a better range and quality than the breakfast. Parking is available on the main road outside reception, but you need to cross a busy road to get to the hotel. On the plus side, the view from the balcony in our room was great, and the view from the dining room was even better. The air-con in the room worked very well. There is not much in the immediate area. The centre of town is about 1-2 km down the road where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Nice view hotel
Nice view. Dinner buffet is nice and reasonable price. If we can use internet in the room, it is better.

Just a basic place to rest your head ...
Lack of regular tourism has resulted in hotel becoming a bit neglected. Check-in went smoothly and we were shown to our rooms. The bathroom had a terrible stagnant smell which a little bleach would have solved, however, later whilst emptying a full bath the water came up through a floor drain. We had two rooms, the beds were comfortable but the bed linen had dirt marks. Each room had a fridge and TV. 1 room had a kettle and it took time to get a replacement for the other room. 1 room had a bath plug the other did not and requests for one resulted in nothing. The first day we used the pool there was rubbish around the poolside and I found two chunks of glass on the floor by the pool. I removed one but left the other to see if the poolside was cleaned. The next day the glass was still there. The second day the pool filters were working but the chlorine levels were high. There was a nice pool terrace. Breakfast was basic: Bread, pastries, boiled eggs, toast, hot water, tea bags, instant coffee, milk. Some fruit. No staff were there to service the breakfast room. One of our party had supper in the restaurant (Chicken and fries) for 10JD. They said the meal was nice served with a nice salad and grapes. No bottled water in rooms 1.5 litre bottle for 1.5JD. Free minibus to and from Petra ticket office in morning. Mini bus to/from town 10JD for four people. Poor wifi No tourists means this hotel lacks investment to survive.

Great hotel. Not close to Petra site, but has free shuttle. Nicest room we had in whole trip. Very few guests for such a nice place, said business was down due to higher prices at Petra.

Jordan Stay / Petra
The Hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful and very polite. One one occasion my son got sick with strip-throat and as the hotel staff (Mgr.) on our return from Petra, on the free hotel shuttle service he took us to a pharmacy where we could get some over the counter antibiotics. Organically we was only asking him for directions beings we had a rental car. We notice the people in the Petra area are very kind, but they lack time awareness. They are quick to respond to each other, but us as the client if they do not mind having you wait for them. Our paid guide to Petra, stopped to greet everyone he knew on our dime, the hotel staff made us wait for him in the shuttle, as he requested if it was ok that he made a quick personal stop, we said yes of course. This took quite sometime, no regard to us waiting in the van for him. So.... don't be in a hurry over there! Our hotel was clean, but the phone did not work, and upon our arrival to our hotel late that evening from Eliot we were all very tired, unload and proceeded to take a shower before bed, and NO-Hot water. Tried to call the front desk and the phone did not work. All 4 of us took a quick cold shower that evening. Thought pre-hasps an oddity. The next day off very early to Petra and forgot to tell the staff about the water, but did mention that the toilet seat was broken and would not say on. Upon return at 11pm, still broken, still no hot water. 7AM the hot water was working, but we are evening showers.

Al Anbat 3 - the nicest Anbat hotel apparently
Seemed like a good hotel but the washroom smelled terribly, and there was not way to get rid of the smell. It was as if the toilet was backed up and wafting feces smells. The hotel seemed designed to host a lot of people, and it was big with an awesome view, but the place seemed empty. Perhaps a reflection of the state of tourism in Jordan and Petra at present. Fairly inexpensive, but significantly more than other places that offered the basics in Petra. This was a fancy place, offering the basics.

Past its best
While there's quite a lot going for this hotel - the large bedrooms, big comfy beds and a great view - a lot of the details of our stay made for an overall poor experience. The biggest issue is the promised free shuttle to Petra. This is shambolic with no regular collection or pick up meaning we were often having to ask local shopkeepers to call the hotel and them sending a driver and us having to wait 30 or 40 mins. Rooms are large and clean but tired and only had one temperamental socket. Despite it being near to Easter weekend the pool wasn't open. Wifi is patchy at beat. Also doesn't really cater very well for non meat eaters.

Useless receptionist, bad bathroom, bad breakfast
Bathroom is rusty old tiny. Breakfast is very limited and nothing tasty. Receptionist just promises and keeps you waiting for something for hours. It is an overpriced hotel with nothing to offer but a bed.
