"The house was exactly as the photos show - well equipped, clean and comfortable with a view over the marina and the river. We had to call our hosts with a power issue on our first night and they couldn't have been more helpful. We weren't there on holiday so didn't get chance to explore the town or area properly but hope to do so on future visits."

"Location good as we came to go to a family party in Castor. Rooms spacious, furnishing basic We booked for a party of 8, however there were only 6 dining chairs, 6 metal knives and only 5 mugs, of which one had a broken handle. So, provision of equipment was not adequate for the party size booked. There was no check-in information provided. A code for the key safe was e-mailed and sent via text at 1pm of day of arrival, but we had no notice that this was to be the process and we had to chase...

"The house was just perfect for what we were after. A reunion of friends, where we could just catch up, chill, eat food, drink wine, go for a walk... The house ticked all our boxes. Communication was great. No issues."

"The house itself is good, comfortable, and fairly reflects the listing, with ample space for a large house party. However, our otherwise enjoyable experience was let down by the lack of attention to detail, in terms of house-keeping and maintenance/repair. When paying a top-end price (about 7k for 4 nights) it was disappointing that several lights did not work (including bathroom lights, dining room main light, bathroom mirror light), the Aga never got up to cooking temperature even after 4 days...

"One of the nicest rental properties we have ever stayed at! Joanne’s property was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated and just a few minutes walk from central Stamford. Joanne was very attentive and house was well equipped. Would love to come back again! "

"We visited Stamford from the US with my father, who is almost 80, as well as my sister and our children (ranging from 1-15) because my father had gone to boarding school there and we were on a memory lane trip. The house was excellent - fabulous old charm in the house, but all had been renovated so the kitchen and bathrooms and such were new. The location was perfect and the beds were comfortable! "

"Very handy location for the conference centre and a nice three bed house. We had a comfortable stay and would come again. We did have some issues with check in (needed to call to get the key box code as hadn't received it when we arrived) and the sofa bed was broken (there was a thin roll out mattress instead - but not what we were expecting) but the management team did respond to calls, and to messages (if less quickly)."

"Great house lovely owner - think there should be more info on the bathroom . En suite bathroom - difficult stairs and v small bath but otherwise a great house. Outside furniture and barb q could have an upgrade ,"

"This property is excellent for a target market of people travelling for work who just need a functional place to sleep and aren't fussy about the conveniences and luxuies usual in holiday let properties. We were happy with our stay because we had full days planned and were only in the property from 10pm to 8am each day, but I wouldn't recommend a holiday here if relaxing at the property would be part of the plan. The staircase is too steep for anyone older than 65ish or younger than 7ish....
