Welcome to our lovely villa located in the charming city of Vodnjan, Croatia! There are several exciting places and activities around our apartment that will make your stay more than memorable.
The city center of Vodnjan is just a short stroll away, where you can explore charming old squares, narrow streets, and a beautiful blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural styles. A short drive from the villa brings you to Brijuni National Park, a group of 14 islands and islets that are a true natural and historical attraction, offering marine life, archaeological sites, nature trails, a Safari Park, and a beautiful botanical garden.
Vodnjan is also famous for its olive oil, so make sure to visit the renowned Ipša Oil Mill or Agrolaguna oil mill to learn about the oil-making process or participate in a tasting session. For a taste of local culture, the Church of St. Blaise houses treasures, relics, and mummies of saints, and its bell tower, modeled after St. Mark's Bell tower in Venice, is a major attraction.
Surrounded by several notable wineries, Vodnjan offers excellent opportunities for wine tasting, where you can explore the exquisite local vintages. For food lovers, the town is known for its delicious local cuisine, especially truffles, seafood, and Istrian prosciutto. Don’t forget to try manestra, a traditional Istrian soup.
Just 11 kilometers away, the historical town of Pula offers a splendid Roman amphitheater, bustling fish markets, and beautiful beaches. A visit to the Pula Arena, one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world, is a must-see, especially stunning at sunset. Today it is used for cultural events such as the Pula Film Festival, theater and opera performances, as well as concerts. Themuseumis located in thecatacombs of the arena, which introduces the history of thewine shop in Roman times. Explore theOld Town, filled with Roman, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian architecture, and notable landmarks such as the Temple of Augustus and the Arch of the Sergii.
