"We were extremely impressed with the friendly efficient staff. The cottage we stayed in was quaint and clean. Well stocked with plenty of rusks and coffee. The cocktails were awesome.Try the Tom Collins Cocktail. Lovely walk trails as well. Then last, but by far not least, the food. I have saved the food for last because It deserves so much praise. The food is not cheap, but oh my word, it is superb. I have yet to be so delighted by my meal at a resort or hotel. Truly the flavors and the quality...

"It’s a very well kept property which is next to main road. Host Rochelle and her husband is very welcoming and kind. We, a pack of 5 people went there to Braai, party and have a fun night and we really had a great time. Breakfast was okay. A special mention to the bread that is very well made. Thank You Rochelle for making our stay a pleasant one. We’ll see you soon. Cheers!!!"

"Not an easy place to find, Hekpoort did not come up on our sat nav and it's quite a way from Magliesburg. Once there though it is in a beautiful setting and very peaceful, just you and the rising sun If my life's ambiton was to write a book this is where i'd come. Very good standard of hosting. Essentially self catering."

"Although the front door doorbell was not working, we eventually got hold of the manager. The admin system also gave some problems and I understand it was a new system, but I had to wait a long time to pay them. Anyway, that being said, our stay was amazing. The place was clean and the cleaning service excellent. Thanks"

"We arrived at the gate with a guard under the influence. We booked and checked reviews on the lodge but was booked at hills. On arrival the TV in the lounge was blaring that we could not speak to the ladies who received us. The room had the stench of sewage hanging in the air. The porter tried to mask this by pouring soap water down the drain. This is a nice place but clearly there is little to no management. Not a nice experience. We left within a hour of arriving. Pity."

"Woodlands Gardens is located near Magaliesberg. The accomodation was clean and well looked after. The common areas i.e. the pool was very nice. The owners have very friendly dogs and our dogs were welcomed and enjoyed it very much. Locates close to many hiking areas and restaurants. The owners are friendly and have good communication with guests. A little on the priciers side for what you are getting but still a great weekend away."

"The lodge was very clean and tidy. The owner and security made me feel very welcome and safe and nothing was to much to ask. The property has a hike up the ridge behind for great views. You could if you wanted to hike to mountain sanctuary its about 2 hours there and another 2 hours back. It was well located just off a main road. Giraffe, Zebra all came onto property to feed on the land which was quite exciting."

"Cabbage tree cottage at stone hill was clean and comfortable, king size bed and the kitchen was very well stocked with appliances. Thoughtful touches for the pets with a secure garden for them. A lovely quiet and peaceful place for a relaxing weekend away."
