"I booked this property on the bases of allowing pets and have parking as I have had expensive stuff in my car and it had to be parked in a safe place. We arrived at this old stable conversion only to found out there is no parking, in fact there was nothing. Just a not so appealing room with a shower. "The hotel had been taken over by a wedding party and our booking was denied. Very confrontational no sympathy no offer to help to resolve. Very rural area, no taxis, ended camping out with my daughter. Cannot comment on interior as never saw it"

"We could not find this property despite speaking with the proprietor on telephone several times. We gave up and returned to our home in Le Dorat on Wed night. We will not book this type of accommodation ever again. You will need a fully functioning Sat Nav to have any hope of finding this property."

It was in fact the owners home and we shared the facilities with her and her family. "The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are alright too. But the location of the hotel is convenient only if the purpose of your trip is to visit the Cartoon Museum, which is around the corner. To get to the old town, where all the monuments, museums, churches, and restaurants are, you have to walk up a steep hill for fifteen minutes."

"Had a lovely time in your chateau, thanks very much. The house was really beautiful, loads of space and lots of quirky features like the piano, vintage bicycles and attic rooms. Lady next door selling local cognac was very friendly. At night the sky was so dark, excellent for stargazing. The river charente is lovely for swimming in. Super!"

"The hotel staff was friendly and our room was clean and spacious enough for a family of 4. The hotel is close to some restaurants, but there is no place to walk nearby the hotel. The breakfast for €8.00 was very basic, no fresh fruit and no eggs but decent coffee. "

"Lovely, quirky hotel right in the middle of the city so very convenient for everything. The receptionists were excellent, so bright and helpful. Particularly helped with the parking as it’s quite tricky when the small car park is busy. The rooms were interesting - each seems to have an individual theme with different colours and attractive vintage furniture. Very comfortable with lovely linen bedding. One small thing is that whilst they have tea and coffee in the room you have to get milk from reception which is a minor but unnecessary inconvenience. The rooms were spotless, as were the interestingly decorated communal areas. The only disappointment was the breakfast which was very standard and not so well maintained if you don’t get there first thing. Oddly, they serve your coffee in a jug with no top which means it goes cold very quickly which is very frustrating. "

"Nice, clean room & very friendly staff, but the outside, on first impression, looked like it could do with a fresh lick of paint & tidy up. Great for a one night stop over though, at a good price & offering a reasonable breakfast in the morning. "

"Perfectly located to stay for an early train departure for CDG. 12 minute easy walk to Centre of Angoulême for large variety of restaurants. The area is not very desirable but it is opposite the train station $ that was the objective. Very clean room but unfortunately no fridge or tea/coffee facility in room."
