We loved everything about our stay at Marketa's. She answered the phone immediately when we called twice to discuss our planned check in time. She greeted us warmly when we arrived and took time to show us all around the house.
The house is very charming, as the furniture, colors, and wallpaper stay true to the 1912 decor the house might have had originally. The jetted hot tub in our room, was, of course, a modern addition. The newer fireplace kept us perfectly warm on a chilly night, and the bed was very comfortable It is in a cute neighborhood near the inner harbor, and only a short walk away from coffee shops (like the Bird Cage) bakeries, restaurants and other historical homes.
The two women who cook and serve breakfast in the dining room were very accommodating and gracious. We ordered from a menu with 4 or 5 choices on on it and loved the fruit covered pancakes and eggs Benedict. We were a bit embarrassed visiting beautiful Canada, given our president's current hostile treatment of our friendly neighbors, but we met very kind, friendly welcoming Canadians throughout Victoria and at Marketa's place. We'd love to come back soon. Thank you to all !
