The pictures honestly do not do this glamping home away from home justice! I could not stop saying how cute it was when we arrived. The bed is so comfy and the shower is fantastic. Our only complaint was we ran out of propane in the fire pit 20 minutes into our first night. Would recommend and would stay again!
Because it was so wonderful that people will read this and book this place and it will be difficult for me to book in the future. First rate, beautiful, peaceful and most comfortable accommodations. Excellent, excellent, excellent. We shall return.
I’ve had glamping on my bucket list for my 11.5 year old boxer for awhile now but could never find any that were dog friendly… until now. Like everyone else said, pictures don’t do the tent justice. It’s so lovely and has everything you need. I was surprised by how many outlets were available. The rain shower was amazing and hot. The bed was comfy, loved the grill and fire table. The first night we (my 2 boxers & I) just relaxed and enjoyed being outside. The next day we hiked crabtree falls, hit up devil’s backbone outpost, and went to hull’s drive in. After we checked out we hit up the natural bridge before we headed home. Lots of dog friendly activities and more to try next time. We will definitely be back when it’s too cold to camp. This is a hidden gem and the cabins onsite also looked great. I plan on looking them up as well for a family trip.
My partner and I stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The drive there was questionable at first because of how empty the surrounding areas leading up were. Absolutely worth it! Peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and charming are just a few words to describe this place. The creek flows throughout the night and puts you to sleep as you rest in one of the most comfortable bed ever!
Lexington was most of what we explored while in town. A 15 minute drive to Walmart, 20 minute drive to the town of Lexington. Really amazing. No signal once in our glamping tent, BUT, if you have Netflix, I recommend bringing an iPad or Phone and finding a restaurant with free Wi-Fi and downloading movies onto it. We spent little time watching but when we had a moment it was perfect.
The rain shower was such an awesome experience. The ability to control the temperature set this place apart for sure. The equipment they have on hand, cooktop, toaster oven, Keurig, etc, made it super easy to warm food, cook food, and enjoy.
Id recommend no more than two people unless its a small child due to space.
The horse and carriage ride in Lexington was so educational and relaxing (book online!). Afterwards, we did travel about an hour away to visit the Warm Spring, Virginia Safari Park, and other things!
The food in Lexington is full of variety in taste and price. I really think this was one of the best short vacations ever!
**HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO WOOD & GLAMPING LOVERS**
My partner and I were planning a *very* last minute weekend getaway, and this experience was perfect in every single way. It is better than the pictures truly show. The whole property is beyond gorgeous and the drive through the mountains to get there really serves to put you in the right headspace to enjoy yourself.
Not having cell service was a huge plus for me as I really needed to disconnect from work, but I wish there had been a little print out of necessary information available at the tent. I had forgotten to take a screenshot of the checkout instructions and as a result, didn’t put the sheets where I should have which I just feel awful about. Sorry to make you do that extra work!
The glamping tent itself is much larger than it looks in the listing, the bathroom especially. We loved cooking our own breakfast and eating out on the porch; the view of the creek flowing down from the forest was outright idyllic. We took a stroll around the property and the other cabins looked so cozy we had many talks of coming back to stay in those as well. (Especially once that trout hatchery? Is finished) the space would be lovely for a group of friends or family to rent all the buildings and have a getaway together.
We picked a great time to visit; got to watch hot air balloons land in nearby fields, saw a movie at Hull’s Drive In, and spent a lovely day at the Natural Bridge. But there’s still so much for us to do in the area and I hope we’ll get to visit Bearadise again!
We loved it here...it is a very special place. It took our breath away when we pulled up. It rained all day so the creek was up when we arrived and continued to rain that evening but it only added to our experience. The outdoor covered porch with the gas fire pit, privacy and wonderful view was great! The place was so clean and homey. The bed and bedding was so comfortable and the rain shower was wonderful. The coffee k-cups supplied was unexpected and appreciated. The Crabtree Falls are about half hour away from this location and the view after hiking 1.7 miles uphill was spectacular! Only 1 tiny complaint, the outside unit to the heat pump was very loud...it woke us up every time it came on (during our 1st night). The work around is to change the thermostat to emergency heat so the outside unit does not come on (great night sleep on our 2nd night). I am so impressed by this place and the owner thought of everything! Thank-you!
Great getaway spot. No cell reception, which was welcomed. Enough space for two and bedding was super comfy. Had a grill, fire pit and silence! Not too far away from Lexington or Natural Bridge. Would definitely return.
The tent was very cute and cozy. Great location to turn your phone off and get away but still a short drive from Lexington, VA. Short trip to check out the history of Lexington, VMI and Washington and Lee University. It unfortunately rained overnight/part of the days so we didn't have a chance to explore the trails around us but the creek that runs right next to the tent was such a calming addition!
My husband and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay. We nervous about glamping, but it was so beautiful and cozy. The bed was so comfy and the brook was very relaxing. Great place for us to relax, unplug, and reconnect.!
