"Hotel Derby was a very comfortable stay. The Good: - The staff was very accommodating and friendly - The room and facilities were very clean - Middle of shopping district in Zermat. Very busy and walkable environment. The Bad: - The room was fairly hot in the night time even with the heat off. We needed to open the window overnight which caused lot of noise in the late night and morning due to the location. - Water temperature was not very hot for shower - The mountain view is not a view of Matterhorn, rather some shorter mountains in the area. Barely viewable on the second highest floor balcony. - Breakfast was included but did not have too much options and had mediocre taste even compared to some cheaper stays in Swiss"

"Overall it is the 2nd best hotel we stayed at during our trip. It would be the best if not for the so-so breakfast buffet experience. We stayed 2 nights, the first day's breakfast we unfortunately encountered the one lady working as the hostess hat morning who was less than welcoming and didn't even let us know we can order eggs (included with breakfast buffet). She also was so loud and chatty with this other guest who speaks the same language. I also observed how she spoke with another couple who arrived to inquire about breakfast. Her interaction with them, and the language/tone she used was quite rude and dismissive. She pretty much left them hanging and not really providing any guidance at all even though she is the hostess. Thankfully the second day, it was a new crew, and they were much much better and very nice. "
