This charming cottage comprises of bright and spacious open plan living: lounge, dining room, a contemporary and well-equipped kitchen, family bathroom, double bedroom with ensuite shower, bunk bedroom and twin room with french doors leading to the balcony. Bi-folding doors from the kitchen leads to the patio and garden area with seating.
Jan Dee cottage is situated in a quiet location in Ventnor and yet is just a 5 minute walk from the town centre and Wheelers Bay seafront. Parking is on road and there is a free public car park in Wheelers Bay (conditions apply and subject to availability), accessed via Wheelers Bay Road.
This Victorian seaside town offers buildings full of character and is one of the sunniest spots on the Island. There's lovely sand/shingle beach and an esplanade which is all within a short stroll from the cottage. In addition to the main shopping street where you will find a selection of small supermarkets to include a Co-op and Tesco Express, there are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens - an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for its theatre, its concerts and comedy and dance shows. The renowned Ventnor Haven Fishery at the marina sells the daily catch of fresh fish and seafood; boat trips are also available from here.
There are a number of great restaurants in Ventnor or if you fancy a take-away to enjoy by the beach, the Ventnor Haven Fishery on the Esplanade sell fantastic fish & chips, locally caught and prepared to order.
Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous 'Undercliff.' This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk downs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is a restaurant and Cafe on-site for refreshments; lunch or coffee and cake!
From Wheelers Bay you can take the level walk, along the sea wall to Bonchurch, or walk along to the esplanade which leads to the cliff path where you can walk towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessed by foot.
