This original apartment was planned by an architect in a quiet lane close to one of the main streets in Venice, within Campo San Polo - one of the most famous and large squares in Venice - and it is 5 minutes walk from the famous RIALTO BRIDGE.
In Campo San Polo there is the 'Querini Dubois Palace' an excellent example of Venetian Renaissance architecture, today used as a cultural Centre also for the Film festival organization. During that event in September, St. Polo’s square becomes a moving picture theatre every evening. The apartment is really only a few minutes walk from the public water bus (called 'vaporetto' line 1 SAN STAE or SAN SILVESTRO), and it is situated near Rialto, the oldest area of Venice historic centre in a centuries old building, on the 2nd floor (North American designation, 1st European).
The entrance is through an independent door and stairs used by two apartments, with earthenware floor and original wooden beam ceilings. It offers very easy access to all the city attractions (only a short walk (15 min. - to St. Mark’s square!). Moreover, in the same district you can find 'Basilica dei Frari' a wonderful church full of historical vestiges, including Canova’s grave.
The apartment is perfect for a couple on a romantic holiday, as it offers warmth, privacy, and the comfort of the most central position you could wish for! But also, the apartment can be the perfect, comfortable and convenient base to explore Venice's beauty and discover its alleys, canal, sights - restaurants, bars and Bacari or osterie (characteristic and historic Venetian wine bars with daily SPRITZ. Meeting place where it is possible to eat small fried food and have a chat with friends or even strangers).
Shop and market are round the corner and just in a few steps you are at the fish market 'La Pescaria' famous all over the world (fish, fruit and vegetable). Moreover, only in a short distance from the apartment, you can find some of the most typical and characteristic Venetian restaurants, very interesting for the various gastronomic proposals and for the different service and rates, such as: DA FIORE, one of the most exclusive restaurants in Italy, suitable to very high standard dinner; ANTICHE CARAMPANE, Venetian cuisine, high level, very quiet in a charming corner, VECIO FRITOLIN an old and marvellous tavern in Calle della Regina (Rialto), meeting place for artists and, in a short way away close to them, AL NONO RISORTO for a dinner in the garden; in Campo St. Polo BIRRARIA LA CORTE pizza-restaurant and characteristic Venetian cuisine. While, for visitors of the Biennal Exhibition gardens, AL DIPORTO at St. Elena’s island offers typical dishes and is attended by Venetians.
