"The Esplanade is truly a 5 star hotel! From the attentive staff to the excellent food, the property is really exceptional. We booked 3 nights as part of a trip to the Istrian Peninsula and enjoyed the hotel so much that we booked an additional night when we returned to Zagreb to get our flight home. The place has an Old World feel that isn't stuffy at all. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel was happy to exchange the feather pillows for foam at our request. The Esplanade was an incredible bargain. We got more than what we paid for."

"Great airport shuttle service, cute kitty cat, and the staff let us store our bags in advance of check in, which enabled us to explore Zagreb unburdened for an afternoon. Conveniently located near the airport, and airplane noise settled down by bedtime and it was quiet overnight."
