"We really enjoyed our stay here! The house has a great ground level, with a warm fireplace and space to spread out. The kitchen has everything you need. We really liked how every bedroom had its own bathroom and shower. The location was perfect too- trails nearby, country feel, yet close to town. Highly recommend!!"

"Week end hivernal très reposant le long du canal et au milieu des champs inondés par la Meuse. Endroit très calme. Promenade en forêt et sur le chemin de halage avec une petite visite sur Verdun. La télé et le Wifi ne sont pas au meilleur de leurs formes mais nous n'étions pas là pour ça. Propriétaire très sympathique. Nous sommes repartis très reposés. Lieu à recommander pour se ressourcer. "We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely family home, there was plenty of space and lots of outdoor activities. We really liked the pool however it isn’t fenced which would have been good to know in advance. There is a local vineyard, restaurant and a supermarket nearby. We would definitely recommend this large house to other groups wanting a quiet getaway. The hosts were extremely helpful and offered to help with anything we needed."

Alhoewel een Senseo-apparaat onhandig is als je 6 koppen koffie nodig hebt, met 3 personen ieder 2 koppen. Dan is een koffiezetapparaat gemakkelijker. Maar dat went en is een kwestie van aanpassen. In het dorp is alleen een bakker met lekker brood en croissants. Verder geen supermarkt in de buurt. Op de televisie alleen Franstalige...

It's ground floor, but it has no windows to the outside; only light wells at both ends. It's not a problem if you're there in winter or are out most of the time, but not good for the claustrophobic! "Had a lovely say this week at Chez Mathilde. It was chosen for the peace and quiet and because of the lovely cosy feel of the property. It was just the right distance for us to explore the forts and bunkers around Verdun. The gite itself, had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. Annie was lovely and made us a quiche, which was the best I have eaten. If we go back to this region again, we will defiantly be booking Chez Mathilde again."
