"Imagine a beautiful gated private family home on an elevated site full of olive and fruit trees where you can look out over all of Heraklion and the Mediterranean from the upper patio. If you prefer to stay outside Heraklion, just a few minutes from Knossos, this is the perfect place to stay. The house is beautifully and fully furnished with all that anyone could ask for. It is clean and looks like it was built 2 years ago, although in fact it was built in 1996. The owner is a friendly and warm person and the refrigerator was full of items we needed. If you are fortunate to find this property available for your dates, look no further and grab it. Just arrive using the driving instructions from the manager, drop your stuff and head into Heraklion for lunch at Peskesis, just a block from the easy Central Parking lot. The Heraklion Archaeoleogical Museum is a short walk away even though we missed it after a long lunch, as it closes at 3:30pm. Everything about our stay was perfect and I don't think we have ever been more comfortable. If I could think of anything critical to say, I would. There is simply no room for improvement...what an unexpected and greatly appreciated pleasure! If I were staying for a month and touring Crete by car, this house would be the perfect base as it is so comfortable. Thank you, Minas, for having us as guests and treating us so well! "A beautiful spot in a lovely village. We only wish we had stayed longer. Beds and rooms are spacious well lit and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with delicious fresh food with coffee and fresh orange juice. It’s the same every day so if you like variety best be prepared to cook in your room or walk. Easy but somewhat hilly walk to the main square, full of vibrant tavernas with good food. Excellent friendly service from the staff. "

"Our host Aristeides and his wife were terrific. Very helpful and provided good suggestions. The villa was truly spectacular, better than expected. Very clean and good location. A five minute walk is a small market and also a very friendly restaurant. The Greek food was delicious. We went back on our final night to have some wine, beer and stuffed grape leaves. "

"Beds were very hard but Athena, the owner, plans to get memory foam toppers. Athena was absolutely wonderful - she greeted us with wine and cheese and hugged us all when we left. The house was incredible."

"We have just enjoyed 2 weeks at the lovely villa Stella hosted by the very helpful and friendly Alexandros. Immaculately clean and with the basic supplies, coffee, tea, bread, home grown grapes, bread and salad ready and waiting for us on arrival. We were even treated to a bottle of the owners own grown olive oil. Simply couldn’t ask for more. The road to the house is very steep so a good car is essential. Would definitely recommend. "

"My family and I enjoyed a lovely week at this beautiful, brand-new villa, which features a spectacular view of Zeus mountain and the checkered olive groves and vineyards surrounding it. There are lovely walks along country lanes, and a village with a supermarket, two trendy cafes, and a butcher’s shop just 5 minutes’ walk away. Beautiful beaches are just 15-20 minutes’ drive away, along with all the shops and restaurants of Heraklion. Yannis and his wife are very friendly and responsive hosts. The villa itself has a lovely decor and many conveniences like a dishwasher, laundry and satellite TV. It is close to Knossos and the airport. The villa was so lovely that we ended up spending a lot more time there than we did touring around! We would highly recommend it."
