Charming Vashon Island Cottage - Just 3 minutes from the ferry.

Enjoy peace and quiet at the Cottage at Useful Bear Farm. Vashon Island has lots to offer year-round: beaches, hiking, biking and bird-watching. Conveniently located near the north-end ferry and close to town where there are wonderful shops and restaurants. The cottage has full kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room on the first floor. Upstairs is a large sleeping loft with queen bed separated by a divider and a trundle bed and sleeper sofa. A portion of the proceeds from the cottage go to local housing programs.

We only stayed over night but this was a terrific spot near the north end ferry terminal. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners and they were very friendly. They gave us the run down of the property and gave some recommendations for places to eat. We will be sure to visit again!

We had a great time staying at this property. The cottage was just as cute as pictured and our kids enjoyed meeting the chickens in the yard. Debra was very hospitable- checking in each day to make sure we were comfortable. The town of Vashon is an easy 5 minute drive away. We would stay here again.

A friend and I stayed here in early May 2023. It’s a very nice little cottage. Well kept and clean. Nicely decorated. The heat was a little funky to figure out, but was fine once you didWould definitely stay again if I come back to Vashon.

The guest house was so cute, on a farm 5 minutes from the center of the Island. The vase of farm flowers were so sweet. Easy communication with the host. The place was perfect for our family of 4. Roomy and comfortable. The king bed was super comfy with nice sheets, pillows, etc. We appreciated the water and coffee pods provided. We enjoyed our stay on the quiet property very much!

LOVELY CHILLY GETAWAY
Enjoyed our overnight stay in this lovely little cabin. it is record temperatures, super cold (20 degrees) but the owners had lots of nice touches, plenty of blankets, throw blankets, even snuggly socks in a basket by the door. Loved the fresh eggs from their chickens. it was so cold we did not bother to put our cold food items in the fridge. Brrr. Thanks for the lovely accommodations, would definitely stay here again.

Cute and Rustic
We spent one night here on our way to the Olympic Peninsula. It's very nice, right on the main road pretty close to downtown but still very quiet. Debra greeted us when we pulled in and showed us how the heaters work, since it was unusually cold out. The house has some nice books around, a few board games, some pots and pans and toiletries. The tap water tastes great! It was perfect for our family of three.

Adorable cottage
The cottage is adorable. Very clean and homey. The owner even left six eggs for me with a note that it was from her "girls" with the chicken's names. I was unable to complete my stay due to a family emergency. The owner was very kind and understanding of my circumstances out of my control. I hope to be able to return some time soon.
