Great stay to get away and enjoy the surrounding nature. No cell phone reception in the area but good wifi, easy access to surrounding rivers and nature parks
The house was comfortable and relaxing with plenty of space. It’s in a beautiful location the nearby lost maples state park was a great spot to visit. The property the house sits on is excellent with plenty of yard and patio to utilize. The river frontage was also a nice spot to walk and relax.
Quaint and rustic farmhouse where we have stayed numerous times. Accommodations are quite comfortable.Even though we were not able to enjoy the river because of the severe drought, (river was mainly sludge) we did enjoy being able to get outside, see the redbirds and deer, and enjoy each others company.
As VROB will attest, we stay at properties around the country. Excellent location, quiet, beautiful views. My only suggestion is to lose the shower heads you have now & get short shower heads with a hand-held extra shower head.
We will be back with our friends!
We loved this old house. Very charming! Great location to visit Lost Maples State Park and Garner State Park, as well as Leakey/Bandera. The rainy/cold weather cut our outdoor activities short, but the location of the house helped us find other activities to keep everyone occupied. I highly recommend this house for your stay in the Garner/Lost Maples State Park area.
Pictures are 100% accurate! The view is splendid and the access to the river is perfect! The hosts respond promptly and fix any concerns, no matter how small. So kind!
The house was quaint and cozy with great river access. Easy to find too. The owner responded quickly and was great to work with. The kitchen had lots of utensils, pans, and even some condiments in the fridge. We would be glad to rent again.
Really enjoyed our stay. The country peace and quiet was great. Cold nights out by the fire pit were perfect. Super close to Lost Maples and not a bad drive to Garner. Typical old hill country home. Very rustic and reminded me of my grandparents' farm house. Very warm and inviting. Even had some Christmas decorations up which was a nice touch. The shower could use a little more pressure and was touchy with temperature but it's an old farm house and rustic feels like home to me. I highly recommend.
We stayed here for 2 nights the location is good very close to The Lost Maples Nature Area. Lots of stars at night very quiet neighborhood I would stay here again if it wasn’t for dust and tree allergies
My friends and I stayed at the farm as our home base for hiking in lost maples. The owners were very responsive and friendly. River access and the fire pit were great features!
The trip was plan for my husband’s 40th birthday. The house was ok. Part of the house had a/c but wouldn’t cool down below 75. They had no curtains up at all inside the house except in one area, where we were sleeping. The river was none existent. There was a swimming hole , but we couldn’t go over because the neighbors had irons poles up with rope . On the other side the same neighbors had a metal gate up. This was not posted in description when booked the house . We didn’t realize this until we got to the house and read the rules .So don’t be fool. What made it bad was Saturday evening we ran out of water . We had no water inside the whole house, luckily we had bottle water. So we made the decision to leave the next day. We had bad cell reception so on the way home we contacted the owner, stating the issue we had and ask for one day refund . When she responded we did not get one apology what so ever. All we got from her was what we should have done and she wasn’t giving us any money back because we should have called her. After the fact we attempted to contact her multiple times , we got the same response . If you’re looking to get in the water go else where because this place does not have any . I hate to be this way and leave a bad review. We have rented plenty of places. Some of the places were decent . What I’m trying to say is we always try to look at the good things. But this one we couldn’t. I know she’s going to come back with something stating otherwise .Be aware
