Just one night this time.
We were there for a medical appointment. It was great to be able to sign out and leave the car and luggage there for four or five hours while we took the taxi to the hospital. Having indoor access to the mall was great for my wife since she can’t walk very far. It was fun to be able to look at the shops and get what we needed and a couple of extras. I needed an extension cord for plugging in medical equipment and Housekeeping brought me one right away. It is an older hotel but it was very comfortable and the staff was excellent and so helpful.

Hotel has not been updated
Very tired hotel that has not been updated in at least 10 years. For the price, other hotels are a better option.

I chose this hotel because it was close to English Bay. It's well placed on Denman St., a 5 min walk to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby. Plus, lots of Vancouver downtown is also within walking distance. Although the location is central, it's tucked nicely away on a quiet street. Hotel staff were pleasant and friendly. They were able to accommodate an early check-in with good humour and ease. My room had nice big windows with a little balcony, which was great. The main drawback to the hotel is the quality of the building and facilities. The hotel could use a major facelift. It shows its age along with wear and tear. Wallpaper is peeling; bathroom hasn't been upgraded since the 1980s. The room itself felt like a dorm room. Internet is poor; many amenities (such as the hair dryer and fridge) are of the lowest quality.

STAY ELSEWHERE
There is a nasty smell permeating the floor and room. Floor 20. The room itself was dirty with stains in the carpet everywhere. The pillow was clumpy and very uncomfortable. I did not sleep well. Bathroom had dirty tiles. Hotel staff has rude tone. Only good thing was view.

I'd recommend it only because of the discounted price I got for the days I was staying. At regular room rates I don't think I would. Their are better options further out of downtown. I was given an 'upgrade' which was very unexpected and nice but I think their might have only been 17 people staying in the hotel... Service was excellent, rooms were small, view was great, lifts were confusing.

Fantastic views and great location
Very nice view, room was clean and in good shape. A little dated, but not bad. Great convenient location foram - Stanley Park and this part of Vancouver. The only complaint is the parking. Parking pm"is difficult for all in this area, so free parking would be more appreciated than a 25 per day extra charge. Was lucky enough top find free parking every night. Look for the signs that say "2 HR parking from 9am - 8PM" (or 9am -10 pm) then park there overnight. You wont have to move the car until 11 am and not at all on Sundays. There is also a 8 dollar overnight parking 2 blocks away. The reception desk clerk did not tell me anything about this lot, she only said "maybe you will be lucky to find some parking, let us know if you need the 25 parking here"... well, I was lucky with parking every night! There seems to be very few parking meter checkers, as I only saw one the whole time, and he was on foot, and there is an overwhelming amount of ground to cover, so unless you are downtown or on a super busy main street, the possibility of actually getting a ticket is pretty small. Oh and the free wifi sucks, just like every other hotel that offers free wifi. Don't bother connecting, cellular data was much faster. The wifi was so slow and dropped so often it was worthless.

Check in was great so friendly and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed staying that this hotel. Customer service was top notch. Location was great. Having a balcony to look out at the mountains and water was beautiful. Lots of amenities in walking distance and short cab ride to downtown.

Old downtown hotel. Would not recommend.
The hotel is very old. Not so clean especially hallways and amenities. Bad lighting in the room and nothing in the fridge to buy. No water. The room was expensive (with the view) had a low ceiling, old furniture and even the bed sheets were old. Clean though. The only good thing about this place is that is close to downtown with easy access to everything. Parking is $25 per day. Staff was nice but not welcoming. More like "'hello' but I have to say this". Overall very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend.

a good location but the hotel is fairly run down.
the worst part was a mouse scurrying around the restaurant at dinner time. On top of the hotel being aged, the mouse heightened the feeling of it being dirty as well. The staff though, were over the top awesome!

Not recommended
We stayed 2 nights and the person who cleaned our room smoked on our balcony - the scent of cigarettes was very obvious when we came into our room on the second day. The hotel seems very old and dated and not well kept. The WiFi signal was absolutely terrible. On the 22nd floor, we barely had WiFi connection and it was very slow/laggy.

Nice hotel in a quiet neigbourghood
Though not close to where I had business (which was at the Vancouver Convention Centre), I was pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the hotel and its quiet neighborhood. The room was nice and roomy (though not modern). It had a beautiful view of the downtown (I was on the 32nd floor and the room had a balcony/patio door). The mattress was really comfy... The staff was friendly and available very early in the morning to answer my questions. Overall, I liked the hotel and would recommend it to my friends and colleagues.

Outdated but comfortable
The layout of the hotel is a bit awkward with stairs coming out of the parking garage, and the elevators take forever. However the staff was very friendly and the suite was excellent. Décor could be updated but it was clean and comfortable.

Rude service & outdated
Rooms need renovating... Very outdated. Could be a great hotel with the location etc. Lady at the reception desk was unacceptably rude when we checked out and I've been in the service industry for years.. Especially when your paying a large amount of dollars for what you get....

A let down, never again.
Was under the impression my suite would be facing the waters of Vancouver, as I took the time to check dozens of hotels with scenery for my Brother in laws bachelor party, passed on alot of cheaper suites in higher end hotels just for the scenery. The moment I walked in made me feel like I was in a cheap motel on the 22nd floor. Approached a management about the issue, and they said it wasn't their fault, but said if there was a room available they'd give me one, but apparently wasn't. Didn't offer anything other than that. Place is broken down looking like the 1970s. Never again, and don't recommend it. Only thing good was that it a centralish to where we'd spent the night on the town.
