"Generally, the hotel was average as expected for the cost. We visited in the Spring (late April to be specific). In our view the room was a bit stuffer then we preferred, but there was lack of air quality control. There was an air conditioner mounted high on the wall, but no obvious means to operate it, so we resorted to opening the room window, but it was facing a back lane, so the typical noise and smell emanated from a restaurant or garbage bins. "The Grand Hotel Duomo was fantastic. A 2 min walk to the tower, cathedral and baptista etc. The breakfast was great with a broad range of options. There are lots of bars/restaurants opposite but also lots of "locals" places within a 5/10 min walk. It is only a 10/15 min walk to the river. The staff were excellent and polite. A great roof terrace to relax on with magnificent views. "

"Good: Really clean. The blind, when it worked, was almost back out. Couldn't ask for a better location - some reviews say it's dodgy but I felt it was cultural of people of different nationalities to be in the street. "The location is great to go out and see the sites. We had interconnecting family room, which was great for my two teenagers to have their own space. Around the corner from the train station which made it really easy to travel around."
