The building and gardens of this hotel are absolutely beautiful, particularly the latter which stretches back the whole block and is full of lovely plants and paths and has the swimming pool-really a plunge pool as it’s small.
The staff are really very lovely and helpful, the breakfast was great and had lots of options a la carte, and was outside in the wonderful garden.
I had a suite, which was fine for me as I was by myself, but might’ve been a bit tight for two people, as the room is not massive and storage-wise there is only a wardrobe (which has the safe and the fridge in it too). I had to put stuff on top of the wardrobe because I ran out of space inside it. The suite itself nicely furnished and full of character.
Also there are only three rooms I gather, and they are all right next to reception-or mine was anyway-and so at times early in the morning I could hear people chattering while they were making breakfast at just after 6 am. Perhaps something to bear in mind for staff in future…
