"I booked a standard room. It's supposed to look to the garden but it's literally to the car park. Awful view. I asked to upgrade which took some persuasion even though the hotel had 3 rooms occupied. Got a nice room in the end. Balconies and outside areas weren't not clean. Lots of weeds in most places. Terrace could be nice but wasn't particularly pleasant. Breakfast was very poor. Felt like back in COVID times we had to pre book. Half croissant I had. Must be tough times Recommend to stay in...

"So much was excellent. The value for money is spot on and even though the restaurant is pricey for Portugal, it's still very good value. Breakfast was far more than we'd expected, especially after some poor offerings elsewhere. Fresh cake, cereal, meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, tea, coffee, yoghurt, fruit, juice, etc. Only suggestion to Sever would be to tidy it up a bit in places - outside litter pick, replace odd bits of tatty furniture (our bed frame and one shelf), strengthen the WiFi...

"Other than the breakfast there was no other meals available nor was there a bar which in today market is a necessity. The hotel could also be more attractive to the travelling client if there was in room tea/coffee making facilities and an iron and board. It is all very good to have a beautiful building but today some basics are just as important."

Cozy, cute hotel with extremely good service/staff
"Everyone was so friendly at the hotel and Elsa very helpful. They made us a dinner reservation and allowed us to bring breakfast up to the room when I didn’t have enough time to eat and then get ready. The room was comfortable open the windows was really nice! Great location right next to the castle in the parking was super easy. They also helped us find the best route to drive up to the castle, which made it a lot easier than trying to navigate the little streets. The breakfast buffet was simple, but everything was so so delicious!"
