Sainte Alvère is a pretty village located in the center of the Sarlat, Périgueux, Bergerac triangle, 30 to 40 km from these essential tourist towns.
The village offers all shops, medical group, pharmacy, tobacco bar, restaurant, post office, ATM, .... Monday market.

The property is 100m from the village and is fully fenced, to accommodate our animal friends. The house is surrounded by a large shaded park of 1/2 hectare and decorated with a beautiful heated swimming pool (10mX5m) with teak beach. Deckchairs, parasols, ...... There is only one rental cottage.

The place is quiet and not overlooked immediately.

The 95m2 house has 2 levels.
On the ground floor, you will enter the living room with fully equipped American kitchen, a dining area and a living room. Internet access, Samsung TV (2016),
A covered terrace gives access to the kitchen and a second space is at your disposal to take meals outside. Garden furniture, BQ, etc ...
On the first floor, you will find a mezzanine bedroom with 2 beds of 90, a second bedroom with a bed of 140, as well as a bathroom with large tiled shower, sink, WC. Exposed beams on the 2 levels and stone walls on the ground floor.

The region is rich in heritage. The architecture is particularly remarkable and many villages are preserved. The hilly and wooded region is crossed by very beautiful rivers like the Vézère and the Dordogne with its thousand castles. Very beautiful country houses dating from the Hundred Years War are worth visiting.
Prehistoric caves, such as Lascaux, chasms and other prehistoric sites are close to the house.

For sports lovers, we can mention tennis in the village, golf courses, water sports in Trémolat, canoeing down the rivers, .... and the many walks starting from the house.

The region having a renowned gastronomy, we can advise you on the choice of restaurants, typical products of Périgord (foie gras, ...) and Bergerac wines.
Every day of the week, markets with local products in very beautiful villages in the surroundings. Saint Emilion and its famous vineyards are 1 hour 30 minutes away and the splendid city of Bordeaux 2 hours by car. Arcachon bay and the Ocean 2h30 drive.

Wonderful stay
We enjoyed a relaxing 12 days at Christiane’s lovely property making the most of the outdoor seating options and large peaceful grounds. Our dog enjoyed playing with Swing, Christiane’s dog. Christiane was very helpful and hospitable and gave some great recommendations for local sights.

Great property in a great location .
We had a very good week at this property, the house had character and was picturesque, the garden was amazing with a good swimming pool , and the property was located in a perfect and small village with all the amenities needed ,the owner Christiane was kind and helpful , we would definitely stay here again .

A perfect stay
We had a fabulous stay with a fabulous host. Christiane took care of all our needs and recommended some great local sights to visit. We enjoyed a meal with her friends and our dog loved to play with her lovely spaniel Swing. It felt like visiting family and we could completely relax. It was a much needed rest and qe appeeciated the space and pool.

Tranquility in a heavenly village
The property is everything you see in the pictures and Christianne is a wonderful host. Very accommodating and provides all the information you need to plan your holiday. The cottage is beautiful with gorgeous garden surroundings and a family sized pool which is fabulous to sit and relax in the afternoons Saint Alvere is a stunning village with 2 x fantastic restaurants, 2 x Boloungeries, a mini supermarket, pharmacy and tabac. You are central with a 3min walk to everything but the property is quiet and tranquil We will be back !

Picture perfect French charm
We spent a fantastic week here, and so wished we could have stayed longer. The house is wonderful - it has everything you could need, and the setting is perfect. The pool is a great size and our 2 kids (aged 6 and 3) loved playing in it, and jumping on the trampoline in the garden too. The garden is huge and is well laid out with various hedges, plants and bushes allowing guests privacy. Christiane is such a great host - we really enjoyed her company (and Swing's) and were grateful for her recommendations on what to see and do. It is a very quick walk into Saint Alvere. Saint Alvere is exactly what you might look for in a French village - excellent boulangeries (which we visited every morning), nice eateries, a bustling tabac, beautiful buildings, a classy market, a small supermarket and pharmacy. We plan to return. This villa ticked all of our boxes and more!

A wonderful and relaxing stay with fabulous pool and garden.
We spent 18 nights at Christiane's property. The gardens and pool are beautifully kept. The village is lovely. We spent our mornings visiting local towns, villages and markets. We also had a great day conoeing. Christiane recommended a wonderful stretch of the river and it was spectacular. In the afternoons we swam and enjoyed the tranquillity of the garden. There were red squirrel's and lots of different birds to watch whilst sunbathing. We loved her little dog Swing who popped to see us every day. The village is a 2 minute walk. There is a great Monday market, a busy bar tabac (it had live music at the weekend), 2 boulangeries, a well stocked shop, post office, coffee shop, pizzeria and 2 great restaurants. We had a few great good value lunches at Le Petit Factory and a few delicious dinners at Dix. We also enjoyed some fantastic lunches at Chez Julien which is in a stunning setting 10 minutes drive away. We often had barbecues in the evening. The kitchen is also well stocked, We have never felt so relaxed after a holiday and were very sad to leave. Christiane lives next door and is very kind, discreet, gracious and helpful. We felt very welcome and were able to get advice when needed but she also respected our privacy.

Wonderful stay at the most charming of Gites in a beautiful garden setting with a stunning pool, below the village medieval church in the equally pretty village of Saint Alvere. The owner is just a lovely host and is very friendly. The gite is well appointed with every consideration for your every need a home away from home. We would definitely want to visit and stay here again! Dog proof fencing so really happy for our lad. who was happy to play with the owners puppy 'Swing'

Just Perfect!
We have just had the most fabulous two weeks staying in this wonderful property with our twins aged 10 and our cocker spaniel Lily. It has been the most idyllic of holidays, where everything came together to make it just perfect. The pretty cottage is well equipped and set in spacious and attractive gardens where we all enjoyed the use of table tennis, badminton, boules and the large beautifully maintained swimming pool. Breakfast was outside in the early morning sunshine having first collected fresh bread and croissants from the local baker, just a 5 minute walk away, whilst evenings often comprised a barbecue of produce from a local market, and of course delightful local wines. Christiane, is a truly exceptional host. She made incredible efforts to ensure that everything was just perfect for us and she was extremely thoughtful and kind to our children and to Lily. There is plenty to do in the area. We spent a day canoeing on the Dordogne, we visited the caves at Rouffignac, where the little train took us deep into the cliffs to see the most incredible stoneage line drawings of mammoths, horses and other wild animals, we feasted at two evening food markets, where the music and festivities were fun and we visited gardens and castles. Equally we spent some lovely days just by the pool and wandering into the village for a coffee or an evening drink. Thank you Christiane for making it all so wonderful and you know we will be back!

Idyllic Dordogne Cottage
We stayed in this comfortable and charming cottage for a week over the Easter holidays. The property is set in an open and spacious garden (perfect for the kids to run about and explore). The pool is lovely and clean and Christiane the owner, was kind enough to open it up for us each day, in case we wanted to swim, even though it was April. The setting is very tranquil and uplifting with old beautiful trees and immaculately kept flower beds. There are very appealing areas to sit and eat meals outside or simply relax with a cup of tea/glass of wine and a book! The inside of the property is cosy and clean, has been well maintained and was a good size for our family of four. One of the other advantages of this place is that it is a short stroll into the local village St Alvere - so great for picking up fresh baguettes and croissants for breakfast. The surrounding countryside is stunning and the property is in a perfect location for visiting so many of the historic towns and villages along the Dordogne. The owner Christiane was very kind and always willing to help out with our queries. Her home is within the grounds of the rental one but there is enough space for everyone to have their privacy and not feel intruded. We felt that this place was quite a gem.

Great property in a fantastic location for exploring the Dordogne
Restored barn / outbuilding with good facilities and fantastic gardens topped of with a lovely swimming pool. Bedroom layout may suit a family (2 adults 2 children) rather than 4 adults but it was comfortable and clean. Indoor and outdoor spaces were great - we were blessed with good weather so ate outside all the time, making good use of the BBQ. Gardens are circa 1 acre in size and fully enclosed so no worries for anyone taking their dogs with them. The local village has a supermarket, bar (slightly odd opening times), 2 bakers and restaurant which served amazing lunches and dinners. Would recommend staying here and we will look to use again next time we are in the region

Lovely cottage with an amazing garden
Sainte-Alvere is a nice village in the Dordogne with everything you need - couple of boulangerie, a decent general store, etc. The house is in a quiet spot next to the owners property. The garden and pool area are amazing, and great for spending lazy days. The owner also has a very friendly dog (Boogie) that quickly became our friend!

Lovely property with beautiful garden and swimming pool. Very comfortable gite.
The landlady is welcoming and very pleasant she made us feel at home immediately. Our dog was very happy and got on well with the resident spaniel. We loved the village which has a great choclatier and a fabulous restaurant. We would highly recommend the property. The only negative is there is no English TV which during a long stay is a requirement. Wifi worked well both outside and at the pool.

A wonderful stay
We have just spent 9 days at this property with our two boys aged 6 and 8 years - and enjoyed every minute of it! The house is well equipped, the bed is comfortable and the setting is gorgeous. Our host, Christiane, was extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming, whilst being respectful of our privacy. The owners property is joined to the gite by a large tile covered loggia, where we had most of our lunches and suppers. There is a lockable door from there directly on to the quiet street, so very easy access to get morning croissants from either of the two bakeries in the village - just five minutes walk. There is a well stocked small supermarket in the village, and an easy 15 minute drive to Le Bugue if you want lager supermarkets. The garden is fully secure - so no child or pet can escape! The pool is positioned very well, in full sun, with plenty of seating around. There is a badminton net set up in the garden which we enjoyed, and within an easy walk there is access to a basket ball court in the village near to the camping car site.If you are taking a dog, there is a quick walk from the house on to a chemin rural - a very attractive walk with lots of wild flowers and butterflies. We would certainly recommend this property!

Pures französisches Lebensgefühl!

Ne correspond pas au descriptif
Grosse déconvenue à l’arrivée quand nous avons découvert que les espaces extérieurs étaient partagés alors que cet aspect n’est mentionné nulle part dans le descriptif. Nous n’aurions jamais choisi cette location en connaissance de cause. Trop de va et vient on ne s’est pas sentis chez nous. Et cela a continué : la piscine n’était pas chauffée la première semaine (pompe en panne), les vélos (neufs dans le descriptif) étaient soi-disant inutilisables. Nous avons insisté et au final nous avons eu UN vélo. Ne pouvant ni nous baigner ni faire du vélo nous avons demandé la table de ping pong. Elle a été installée dans la journée. Tout ceci montre une grande impréparation. Dommage, pour nous ce sont des vacances gâchées. En revanche le village de Ste Alvère est vraiment très beau.

A little paradise
We had a very nice relaxing vacation. The location was situated very near the heart of the village. Two bakeries and restaurants- pharmacie- a bar - a little shop and the wonderful small market on monday. The house was very lovely and the garden with the pool super. Christiane is very hospitable and Monsieur Swing - her dog - adopted us and Brioche - our dog. For us it was a wonderful vacation. Thank you - Christiane and of course kisses for Swing......

Perigord ist eine Reise wert
Ein sehr schönes und ruhig gelegenes Anwesen. Sehr gute dörfliche Infrastruktur (sogar einen neuen Tennisplatz kann man mieten) ,alles zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Eine sehr nette Gastgeberin, die sich um Alles kümmert, wenn etwas gebraucht wird. Sie gibt wertvolle Tipps für . Ausflüge und Märkte. Poolanlage herrlich, Auslauf für den Hund hervorragend und im Haus ist alles Vorhanden was man täglich braucht. Ein Minus gibt es bei den Betten, die Matratzen sind zu weich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nous avons passé 2 tres belles semaines à Sainte Alveres.... La maison est située en bordure du village ce qui permet de s y rendre à pied (2 restaurants, une supérette, 2 boulangeries, un marché le lundi). Le jardin est magnifique. Merci à Christiane pour son accueil.

Ein magischer Platz!
Wir betraten ein kleines Paradies, als wir den schön angelegten und traumhaften Garten mit Pool betraten. Die aufmerksame und sehr sympathische Gastgeberin führte uns durch das gemütliche Ferienhaus, welches keine Wünsche offen ließ, und gab uns viele und nützliche Tipps für den Aufenthalt in der Umgebung. Einfach großartig
Wir waren eine Woche, Ende September hier. Das Wetter war durchwachsen, aber das machte uns kaum etwas aus. Das Anwesen ist super schön, insbesondere wenn man einen Hund dabei hat. Grundstück und Pool sind phantastisch. Das Haus ist sehr schön und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, uns hat nichts gefehlt. Christiane ist die perfekte Gastgeberin. Sie hilft und gibt Tipps, wenn man das möchte ohne in irgendeiner Form aufdringlich zu sein. Sehr angenehm! Einfach nur zu empfehlen !!

Un petit coin de Paradis dans le Périgord ! Christiane est très avenante et aux petits soins si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit ! La maison reste fraîche malgré la chaleur et la piscine est des plus agréable ! Vous prenez la magnifique ruelle fleurie pour aller à pied dans le village (3 mn) où l'on trouve absolument tous les petits commerces, ainsi qu'un office de tourisme, une grande pharmacie et de très bons restos. Vous pouvez laisser de côté la voiture et tout faire à pied pendant vos vacances ! Tout est sur place ! Une merveilleuse semaine, des souvenirs plein la tête ! Vivement la prochaine ! séjour plein de charme à Sainte Alvère
Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cette maison pleine de charme. La location est implantée au cœur de sainte Alvère, très jolie petite commune de Dordogne, accessible à pied depuis la maison. Elle bénéficie d’un cadre magnifique, avec un grand jardin arboré partagé. Christiane, la propriétaire, est un véritable coup de cœur. Elle a su nous accueillir avec soins, nous conseiller sur les sites à visiter et sur les nombreuses activités à faire aux alentours. Elle est discrète tout en étant toujours disponible si besoin. Elle connaît très bien le coin et nous a été très précieuse pour faire nos choix. Son petit chien swing est adorable et les enfants ont adoré partager quelques moments avec lui. La piscine est grande, quel bonheur de se rafraîchir en plein été avec un tel cadre autour ! Le calme est très appréciable aussi. Un grand merci à Christiane pour tout, nous recommandons sans hésiter!
