The Barn of Villa Buonamici

Located in a small hamlet, detached stone villa with garden on 3 sides that slopes down towards the stream. It is arranged over three floors for a total of 210sqm and has been expertly restored and furnished with pieces from the ancient Tuscan tradition.
Independent historic building used in antiquity for agricultural use. The structure is part of the larger complex of Villa Buonamici dating back to 1300 and was completely renovated in 2015. The residence overlooks the ancient courtyard of our village. Its garden degrades directly on a pretty stream that flows slowly towards the valley among a succession of small waterfalls. It offers the opportunity to relax in the silence of the Tuscan countryside or in the splendid infinity pool overlooking the valley of olive trees. For an exclusive stay in environments that are the result of a quality restoration in the recovery of ancient cooked, stones and wood.
terrace equipped with table chairs for outdoor dining, barbecue, private garden and patio for relaxing moments. Shared use of the pool and its garden.
It is possible to organize typical Tuscan dinners, barbecues and cooking classes.
the barn is located in a medieval village completely surrounded by greenery on the border between the forest and the typical olive groves that characterize the Tuscan countryside. Located 3 km from the village of Vaiano where there are shops, train station and various services.
Ideal point to easily reach places of cultural and historical interest, easily visited in a day (Florence, Prato, Pistoia, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Volterra and the other famous places of the splendid Tuscany). Car is required.

One of the highlights of our trip!
Staying at Christina’s villa was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy this year. We enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Christina and her mother on the night we arrived. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, and we wished we could have spent more time on the property. Many thanks for the great hospitality!

Pasqua a Vaiano
Tutto direi ottimo

Sorry to say but a little disappointing
Our family stayed here for a week in July 2018. We were disappointed as the villa did not live up to our expectations or the photographs and reviews. It was a little tired with threadbare rugs on the floor. I appreciate the building is old but the furniture doesn't have to be! The curtains and tablecloths in the bedrooms needed laundering and although the bathrooms were clean all four ensuites had severe mould. One of the bedrooms had disabled access and a wet room effect but wasn't able drain the water away leaving the bathroom swamped in water all day long. We didn't actually use the fourth bedroom in the basement as intended. It was very damp and musty and the mould in the bathroom was just not acceptable. There was a humidifier in the room which showed there was obviously a problem with the room, the sheets felt damp and there was an obvious smell of damp. My daughters shared a double bedroom upstairs instead of having their own. I spent 3 hours upon arrival with a scrubbing brush and some special treathment to make all the bathrooms acceptable to use. The mould was clearly from several months worth of incompetent cleaning and not just a poor service or quick handover. I made it known to the owner Christina who lent me the scrubbing brush and apologised that the bathrooms were not acceptable. I pointed out that their cleaning company should see the before and after photos that I took and she agreed. Christina did say that she would send the cleaners back to the villa in the week but this never happened as she went away herself for a week. Ricardo, Christina's brother was extremely helpful when needed, one of our toilets didn't flush and he arranged a plumber to come and fix this. However there was no communication between Ricardo and Christina as on our departure date we argued the cleaning bill of 100 euros seeing as I had had to do the cleaning of the bathrooms when I arrived and he knew nothing about this problem. After a discussion and showing him the before and after photographs he agreed this was not good and we paid half the price of the cleaning which we appreciated. Our villa experience this time was unfortunately not one that I would want to repeat. However the pool area and gardens and view were just as photographed and very well kept and clean, comfortable sunbeds and a spectacular view that we won't forget. The property was a good location for sightseeing and close to a good mainline station. Roberts Family

Authentic Stone Villa in the Hills
We stayed in the smaller villa in early October. The area was isolated and charming with the sound of running water outside the back windows. If you are looking for a relaxing place in the country this will be a great option. Before booking I looked at many places and read countless reviews so for anyone reading this, I hope it is helpful! I would recommend visiting in the warm months when you can use the pool and enjoy the beautiful natural setting. For my family it was too cold at this time of year and we went sightseeing or shopping every day so we didn't get to enjoy the property to its fullest.. This property will be ideal for a group that wants to enjoy the local area. It was closer to an hour in high traffic times to Florence. I would definitely return with others that appreciate a laid back atmosphere and don't need tv in every room. The photos are accurate and its decorated very nicely. Everyone we came in contact with was very nice. The homeowner went shopping for us before we arrived & the brother delivered wood for the fireplace (for a fee). The Coop grocery in town was great! There is a washing machine on property and you can line dry clothing. We travelled with a nine month old and they had a crib & high chair. It would be best to bring children who could walk bc of the stairs & stone floors. I highly recommend you arrive during the daytime so that you can easily find the place and take time with the host to learn the ins and outs of your rental. It will make for a much better experience.

geruhsame Ferien in gediegener Unterkunft

Beautiful villa, perfect hospitality
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the perfect ending to a hectic two weeks touring Europe. We were able to immerse ourselves in the Italian countryside and relax. The pool was as wonderful as the pictures, and we were in it within an hour of arriving. Cristina, her mother and her girls took great care of us, including preparing an amazing dinner our first night so we didn't have to worry about that after traveling (we came from Monaco by car). We were a large group of 7, mostly teenagers, and everyone loved the house, the pool, the view, the peace and quiet. So much space, we fit comfortably. We wish we could've stayed longer than 4 days. All the other 5 star reviews are true, excellent all around!

A week in Tuscany
We had a lovely week at this beautiful property. The house was breathtaking and yet it felt like home. Our host and her family were so welcoming. My son and his cousin enjoyed the pool with a view of the valley. We played with Luna the kitten and Therese the lop eared bunny. The other guest were friendly. I only wished we had stayed for another week so that we could spend more time relaxing in the perfect Tuscan get-away. Last night we tried to recreate Christina's signature sage ravioli, I think we got the sage leaves right 😉. Grazie Mille!

Charming villa, stunning pool!
This antique villa was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, each room outfitted with a bathroom and door leading outside, and each with its own personality. The infinity pool is a stunner, with views looking straight out on Tuscany - though shared with the guests of the other villas. The owner, Cristina, was a gracious hostess, offering olive oil made on the estate, and local wine for our homecoming. We were able to buy an infinite amount of tomatoes from Cristina's garden, and as an additional special touch, she and her mother cooked a real Tuscan meal for our party, two families amounting to nine people - which was well worth the additional charge! It's a (steep) adventure getting to the villa, but the location is well-situated near Florence. Our family loved our stay, and had a hard time parting. We definitely recommend it.

Einfach traumhaft

Excellent Property
Very comfortable accommodation. Good sized double bedroom with queen bed, built in wardrobe & good ensuite. All renovated, large comfortable living/ dining room, small kitchen, access to a shared swimming pool. Great small or large group facilities with two other separate houses in close proximity. Need a small car to access Prato & nearby towns or hire a bus. Beautiful views, friendly, helpful owners who speak English. Really good area to visit - close to Lucca, Pistoia, Florence and Prato which is a very interesting town & much underrated. Very good restaurants in nearby towns & the surrounding country. Our stay here added considerably to our Tuscan experience after a few days in Florence. Thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic property, surroundings and lovely owners
The property is first class!! The owners are lovely and so helpful. Situated in the hill just outside Vaiano, it's perfect for a quiet getaway but with in easy distance for Florence, Lucca and other places of interest. The property it's self is in immaculate condition and full of history. The grounds are beautiful and the pool in amazing with such stunning views. It's perfect for a family holiday, and we had a wonderful time. I can't recommend it enough. You can't fail to have a wonderful here :-)

Wow!
We were 2 families from Virginia and feel fortunate to have found this amazing property and lovely Christina who was so very accommodating. We were there in June and the property and view is breathtaking. The beds and rooms comfortable, rustic but with modern bathrooms situated within a stone villa with 12in thick walls. Christina brought us a lovely "light supper" on the day we arrived which was amazing and so very appreciated. We loved our time here and hated to leave. Lounging at the beautiful pool with a view and a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing was heaven on earth. A car is key as you are in the hills outside of Prato - can rent a car right in town. Would highly recommend this lovely villa!

A most beautiful spot
We spent three nights in this beautiful house. The bedrooms are shuttered and stay very cool so I slept amazingly, awaking to the sound of trickling water every morning. Lazy days by the fantastic pool with the one of the best views ever. If you are in need of relaxation this is the place for you. STUNNING! Xx
