We certainly enjoyed our stay. The views and the bird watching off the back deck are certainly entertaining. We were even lucky enough to see an alligator one morning. I wish we hadn't been so busy with football in Baton Rouge, so we could have enjoyed the property even more. A return visit is a must! The town of Vacherie is so precious. We met lots of great people, especially at DJ's Grill (we went there twice). Thank you for letting us stay at your unique home.

exceptionnel

property was beautiful and had beautiful decor.
It was a great roomy place to stay. Had everything we wanted. it was a beautiful place and it really had everything we wanted. We were able to cook and there was everything we needed. I especially liked that there were plenty of bathrooms and washing machines. The patio area under house was nice as well with ceiling fans and picnic tables. We did use the grill. The kids loved the ping-pong table, too.
The only problem we had was the central air conditioner on the upstairs not working. But Jason answered my multiple calls. Repair man came out twice. When it couldn't be fixed he had someone come put window units in. Heat index 116 while we were there. The window units worked well in bedrooms but probably needed a larger unit for large room upstairs or maybe one more unit. I would give 5 stars if it were not for the inconvenience if the air conditioner not working properly.

Beautiful spot on the bayou
We really enjoyed the house. It was great for our family of 6, everyone had a bed of their own and the kids had a hang out area upstairs.
We weren't familiar with this part of the country, we really enjoyed the tour at the Evergreen Plantation, which was pretty close.
If you've not been down there, be prepared for long drive times as many of the roads meander quite a bit. Fortunately the small towns and countryside that you drive through is very pretty.

Great 4-day stay over Christmas time!
The 5 of us had a family vacation for the holidays in southern Louisiana. We enjoyed exploring New Orleans for a week, but this spacious and comfortable house was a haven of calm and peace after the hustle and bustle. We kayaked, played ping-pong, cooked gumbo and jambalaya, visited nearby Laura and Whitney plantations (highly recommend!), walked around the neighboring lakeside houses, and most importantly, rested. We could spend hours bird-watching from pretty much every room in the house. Thanks Jason and Ashley for making our stay a breeze!

The house was very clean and adequate size for the 6-10 people that were there.
Beautiful house with 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. More than adequate for our guests. It was hot, humid and buggy the majority of our stay, so we stayed on the decks and didn't venture out on the grass. It was a lovely view and saw an occasional gator and eagle along with other birds and large turtles.
If you like peace , tranquility and family togetherness it's a perfect place! If your aim is going into New Orleans and Baton Rouge, etc. it's over an hour drive each way.
Jason and Ashley were great hosts and responded quickly when I had a question.

Nice Vacation
We really appreciated how quickly we were able to pull this vacation together at the last minute since our vacation to the FL Keys was cancelled due to the hurricane. Jason was great to work with - very responsive to all of our questions. The house was very well kept. We saw a lot of interesting things and tasted food that we had never had before. Several plantations are close to this house to tour. We went to Oak Alley Plantation where we also enjoyed a nice lunch at their restaurant. We also visited Avery Island to see how Tabasco sauce was made and its history. Of course, we went to New Orleans several times as well. We enjoyed watching the alligators at dusk from the balcony. We also caught catfish, trout and a few snails off of the dock. Thanks for your hospitality.

Clean, beautiful, spacious
Awesome experience! 7 family members present to celebrate 2 birthdays. The home is very roomy with lots of sunlight and great views from the balconies. We enjoyed a kayak paddle on the lake and watching the alligators swim by. In close proximity to the plantations we visited and enjoyed great food at the local grill. Would definitely stay again!

The Perfect Getaway for a Family Reunion or to Unwind and Reconnect
Simply phenomenal – everything was perfect from reservations to checking out. The owners are very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed and more. It is a lovely home where you can sit on the picnic tables and enjoy the backyard, move up to the 1st floor or 2nd floor and enjoy the beautiful sunrises. The house easily accommodated all six of us without feeling like we were intruding on each others space. It’s perfectly located for a motorcycle trip to Grand Isle and a day trip to Bourbon St. The rides were awesome as you cross many long bridges, lots of new sights to see. We’ve stayed in many VRBO homes and this home is #1.

Large home with great views!
Our family of 6 had a very comfortable stay in this home. It has than enough space for everyone. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck every morning and evening. It's away from town, very quiet neighborhood, and a short drive to Oak Alley and Laura plantations. The owner, Jason, was awesome to work with before and during our stay. He responded quickly to any questions I had.

Excellent place of stay...
We were about 9 adults visited the place over the weekend. The house had a lake side view with the excellent patio for bird watching. The owners even provided binoculars. The neighborhood was very quiet and friendly. Owners were awesome, they kept pretty much everything you want for the vacation. The only problem we had was the master bedroom toilet was not flushing out properly. But that is not a stopping point, we used the other ones.
We thoroughly enjoyed the house, if possible I will visit the place again. My rating for the house would be 5 *s.

Great House, Beautiful Location
We had such a nice weekend celebrating my fiance's birthday at this property. The huge porches overlooking the bayou and lake were great - so nice to have our coffee out there. We pulled the charcoal grill out onto the grassy area next to the bayou and grilled, fished, and just relaxed. It was awesome. The house is big, very nice and updated, with lots of common space so everyone can chill out inside too. Jason and Ashley were great at communicating with us leading up to the stay. I really don't think anything could have been better. Thanks Jason and Ashley!

Quiet, relaxing, well decorated, comfortable
My family and I stayed for the weekend to celebrate the birthdays of our 17yo and 14yo daughters. We brought along our 2 month old foster son, 13yo niece and my parents. Space was abundant. More than I imagined from the photos. It was very clean. Beds were comfortable. The master downstairs was large enough to accommodate us and baby with bassinet so no one was inconvenienced. The kitchen had everything we could need to prepare meals. Game room upstairs was very large. The girls all enjoyed the ping-pong table. The upstairs bedrooms are reportedly very comfortable. We did not make use of the kayak or the grill. The kids caught several catfish. The gators really start coming up close to dusk. Two fishing lines had to be cut because alligators grabbed. A sure sign that it was time to go in. Very nice little town. Friendly residents. We didn't take in any plantation tours and we did not eat out. Once we got there we had no interest in leaving until it was time to go home. We will very likely visit again. Highly recommend.
