"Loved the place and the remoteness. The water pump wasn't working, but a solution was promptly provided. It wasn't the best situation, but it worked. Also, the second bed appeared to be a mattress pad behind the main bed. We ended up just sharing the bed for the duration of the stay. Would return, but would love those issues/inaccuracies to be fixed."

"The cabin was absolutely perfect! The hosts are very thoughtful, providing coffee, cups, towels and bedding along with other amenities to make you feel at home! "This was our third stay at the Love Shack and it couldn’t have been better! We come each fall to tour wineries and waterfalls. The Love Shack is cozy and relaxing with an amazing view of the rising sun each morning, a lovely deck, and all the amenities for a long weekend stay. The location is great for traveling around Seneca and Keuka. The winery across the street-Scout-is wonderful!"

Basswood is dog friendly and includes a fenced dog run.

"The property was super cute. The hot tub was a great addition. The beds were very comfortable. The only downside was the lack of storage for clothes and toiletries if you are an over-packer like us. It was in a very good location to be wineries and breweries that were on the east side of the lake. "

"Annual girls weekend for 5. This was a new location this year instead of the beach...The serene surroundings were perfect, a little chill in the air and the town of Skaneatles is charming. Basement bedroom did not have adequate heater flow and the overall cabin needed a good clean and some recaulking but we enjoyed the rustic accommodations. Thank you for a great getaway."

"We had a great time staying here! Cabin was very cute, cozy and we loved the hot tub! Fenced in backyard was great for my 3yr old to run around in without having to worry about him leaving my sight! Location is perfect! Secluded just enough that you don’t feel like you’re alone in the middle of the woods, but you still have privacy! And the daily breakfast is a perfect touch! "There was nothing about our stay that wasn’t perfect. Even the rainy weather gave us an opportunity to catch up, play some ping pong, and enjoy our favorite spot - the screened in back porch! As a retired nurse and part-time cleaner for an a vacation rental, I and my sisters were very impressed with the cleanliness of the property! We also enjoyed the deer and other wild life that visited with us. Thank you!"

"We stayed in the cabin while we attended the Deck the Halls wine trail. The cabin was very nice and clean and all of the necessary amenities were provided. While the house is not directly on the lake, it is just a short walk down to the dock listed by the property. "

"This house was perfect for our large group, fun nights playing cards at the table, nice soak in the hottub, and central to all our activities, including Niagara Falls, Lake Ontario, and the Finger Lakes. "This cabin is in the perfect location and has AMAZING views!! It has a lot of space and a lot of steps which isn’t great for carrying luggage and groceries up to the main floor and then more steps for the open loft bedroom. We were fine with it, but keep that in mind. The bedrooms were a bit warm. We couldn’t lock the door when leaving because the code lock wasn’t working at the time we were there.
