Rustic getaway close to Chicago
This place is absolutely amazing, smack dab in the middle of some of Michigans finest wineries. Mona is very hospitable and very attentive to detail, the lake house is amazing. The decor and well kept property will have you feeling so relaxed and comfortable, my wife and I stayed for Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed ourselves so much we are already talking about going back. I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.

We had a great weekend away at Mona’s lovely property. It is close to great wineries and restaurants, but just relaxing at the house with the lake, fire pit and tranquil scenery is wonderful as well. Hope to come back soon! Thanks for a great stay!

I enjoyed my stay here. The house is nice and has great views of woods and the lake. It is not in Union Pier, but 20-25 mins outside of Union Pier and Benton Harbor. Had a great stay and Mona is super communicative and helpful.

Great weekend getaway
It was a great spot for a weekend with friends. We loved the hot tub and fireplace. The tucked in location on the lake was perfect. It was easy to get anywhere we wanted to go for the weekend. I can only imagine how great it would be in the summer with full use of the lake!

Much needed get away
Highly recommended house in a beautiful setting. The home is quiet, and peaceful. The lake is beautiful and the water is clean. A great place for a romantic get away. Lots to see and do, winery's, national parks and good restaurants. The owner provides great service and great information about the area. I will definitively consider visiting again.

Relaxing getaway
I had a wonderful winter weekend with my boyfriend and our dog. The property is at the end of a road, so there is a peaceful feeling of privacy. With a backdrop of a wooded hill, a serene lake, and a hot tub tucked away in trees, it was a perfect oasis. It was very close to wineries. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Anniversary getaway
Wish we could have stayed even longer. Good communication with Mona & speedy correction of concerns or answers to questions. Loved swimming in the private lake, or just sitting on the dock. Close to multiple activities of choice, perfect scenery of vineyards & orchirds on the drives. Wish we could have used the upper deck, but understand rationale-- same type of cocerns with my childhood home. Would love to see the addition of a railing on the stairs down to the lake.

Secluded home away from home = Great Escape!
Where do I begin? Our stay was...perfect. The house, the lake, the attention to detail far surpassed my expectations. From early morning swims to late night bonfires, we (5 adults and 2 dogs) enjoyed every moment. And 'Thank You' M for the prompt return of our forgotten laptop! ;-)

Excellent in every way
Beautiful home, beautiful setting, sooo peaceful. Great for a family gathering. Loved the lake, hot tub and cozy fire pit setting. Really everything you need is there. Beds, linens, towels, kitchen amenities and games galore! Was great having beach towels, boats and fun beach stuff for the lake. We ended up staying in and cooking 5 out of 7 nights. Wineries are biking distance away (and delicious!). Mona’s welcoming info was so helpful too. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

Fall Family Peaceful Retreat
Lovely home. Stunning location. We were very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen. Great linens and pillows. Cool woodsy hot tub with changing colorer lights. Fabulous correspondence with owners. Easy check in and out. Highly recommend morning coffee with sunrise on the dock. Note: the upper balcony attached to master bedroom is not accessible - our only disappointment with the property. Perfect for all ages - our group ranged from 25 to 55. Loved the wineries, beaches, dunes, trails and fun shops nearby! Mona is a delightful host and gave us some excellent recommendations for food and fun!

Fantastic Lake House Getaway
Sanctuaire exceeded expectations for our family! Perfect Lake House getaway! The property is all in the name. Peaceful, quiet, and rejuvenating! Sunrise in the spa was the greatest way to decompress and reset. Families will have a memorable time fishing, canoeing, swimming, playing board games, and exploring. Mona is timely in her communication, personable, and knowledgeable about the local hot spots! We cannot wait to come back to this gem! Thank you again for sharing your home!

Weekend Family Getaway (with dogs and friends for kids)
We packed the house on the weekend of February 24, 2023 and everybody loved it! We had 2 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs. We did not feel cramped. The house itself is lovely and it is situated on a beautiful, quiet lake where the houses are set back. The hot tub was fantastic! It is a short drive to Warren Dune State Park and Weko Beach in Bridgman, which is a great dog-friendly beach. The house is also so close to Dablon Vineyard that you could walk there. Also, the host was very kind and helpful. We highly recommend!

Perfect retreat
I went solo with my dog for a retreat and this was a perfect spot -I look forward to returning with the family. Nestled in the woods in the wine country and central to everything the house sits on a small private lake on an acre and a half lot. It is secluded and quiet. The house is eloquently equipped and could easily support a family of 8. Everything you could do outdoors is considered from fishing to boating to games like horse shoes. The hot tub is spectacular; there is a grand stone fireplace inside and large fire pit outside. The owner considered everything from a thoughtful appointed fully functioning kitchen to a surround sound system. It’s a magical spot. Well cared for. Owner was very helpful.

Fantastic Lake Vacation!
House was even better than listed. Super comfy, lovely location, close to many amazing places, including Warren State Park. My 22, 19 and 16 y-o sons and their girlfriends loved the place, as did my dogs. Magical, lovely vacation, and host checked in to make sure all was well. Can't recommend enough! Much needed vacation for all of us, fabulous location, clean, well cared for. A million thanks to host and cleaning crew!!! If you are looking for a quiet getaway with lots to do, look no further! You will be well cared for. Host checked in with us while we were traveling to make sure we had all possible local itineraries covered. Checked in during our stay, and while we were on our way home. Total class act. Stay here -- you will not be disappointed!

Very nice but descriptions of luxury are a bit exaggerated
We had a nice time here with our family. It is a lovely home and we very much enjoyed the peaceful setting and the hot tub. However, the description in the listing is a tad exaggerated. It is a very nice cottage, but it isn't the pinnacle of luxury. There is no "deep jacuzzi" tub in the master bathroom, just a normal bath tub. The "small gym" is basically a closet with a weight bench. It does have a crib, but it is by no means child-proofed. There is a gap below the stair railing that a small child could fit through. There was also an axe for decoration that was on a table at child-level. All in all, I would recommend it, but temper your expectations.

Almost perfect...
We LOVED this rental home, and found it to be secluded, beautiful and woodsy. We arrived to a lovely arrival gift, which included a toy for our beloved dog. We all swam off the pier in the quiet lake, it was exactly what I had imagined. Love the cabiny feel of the house, older kitchen, but totally functional and fully equipped. The canoe and fishing boat were perfect. The only stinker was the bed. The king sized mattress in the upstairs suite slumps in the center, so as relaxing as the days were, the sleep was not as restful as it should have been, be on a comfortable bed! My 12 yr old also said his twin wasn't comfy, so you might need to update/upgrade all the mattresses. If that happens, I'll be returning., without a doubt! Other than that, this was our best rental yet, and met all our other expectations.

Sanctuaire is a fantastic place. It is lake-life perfected.
Our family of four (with two young boys) had an absolutely wonderful time at this beautiful property. It is just as described, if not even better. The home is in a heavily-wooded area and very private. The lake is beautiful—clean and no loud motor boats. It was a perfect swimming lake, and the floating dock was so much fun. We also enjoyed the canoe and fishing from the dock. Wildlife was everywhere: deer, turtles, frogs, a variety of fish and birds, and other creatures that were huge attractions for our city kids. We enjoyed fires in the cool evenings in the beautiful stone fireplace, and we roasted marshmallows in the firepit. We rode our bikes for miles and tasted amazing local wines and beers along the way, along with farm stand peaches and veggies. We also rode our bikes to nearby towns for wonderful lunches and breakfasts, but that was about the extent of our adventures away from the property. We had everything we could want right there. This property is, simply put, a beautiful place on this earth and a perfect place to make fantastic family memories.

21st Annual Girls Trip
For 8 active ladies (mid 50’s - mid 60’s) this property was perfect for our 21st annual girls trip! We were greeted by a nice bottle of wine, some chocolate and a welcoming note from the owner, Mona. Many times we were all together at the large table on the enclosed porch sharing a meal, having drinks and playing games. We took full advantage of all the amenities - spending time on the deck, in the canoe, at the fire pit and in the hot tub. The property was clean and is large enough for every to spread out and relax together or separately both inside and out. As described in the property info, everything you need right at your fingertips from charcoal and life jackets to spices and extra bedding. I wouldn’t have the space to list all the things that are available for use. The owner really did think of everything to make for a no stress - no worries stay! Mona gave us the best recommendations on a great local beach (Weko Beach), and a great winery to enjoy dinner and drinks (Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant. ). This property would also be perfect for a family trip or even some solo time away! Being an early bird I enjoyed sitting on the dock at sunrise listing to the wildlife and made sure to catch a couple sunsets as well. This property lives up to is name for sure!

Something for Everyone!
My wife and I vacationed here for a week with our three grown children (18, 21, and 24) and our furry kid (i.e. our beloved 2-year old dog). We had an amazing week. First off Mona is the ultimate host. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and to answer all of our questions up front so we knew what to expect, as well as what was expected of us. There are rules but they're very reasonable (what any of us would ask if we were renting our home) and I appreciate her warm and frequent communications. The house and location were exactly what we were looking for...peaceful and relaxing. The home is bright and open and comfortable. There are two separate living areas in the interior first floor, another living area in the all-season room, and a second floor loft that was a great space for reading and relaxing. There are only two bedrooms so two people slept in the twin beds in a dedicated section of the loft. It wasn't their first choice but it was fine for the week. The kitchen is well equipped and both bathrooms have showers which is very convenient. And the rest of the property is amazing. We felt totally secluded thanks to the huge trees all around and of course the gorgeous lake. There was room for our dog to safely run and explore and for all of us to spend time canoeing, fishing, cooking, enjoying the hot tub, or just relaxing on the dock while surrounded by birds, fish, squirrels, chipmunks, and even a large turtle that crawled up to the house. Dog owners will love the beach at Warren Dunes. It's only 15 minutes away and there's a dedicated beach for dogs that was a huge hit with our family. Not to mention it's a great place to see sunsets and climb the huge (and I'm talking several stories tall) sand dunes. There are also some quaint towns nearby and we made an awesome day trip to Chicago, which is only 90 minutes away. IMO it's a great place if you just want to hang out and relax and a great place if you want to get out and see/do different things every day. We'd do it over if we had the opportunity and we can't wait for our next visit to Sanctuaire!

Location
Excellent private location on the lake. Enjoyed taking the canoe out. Within a few miles of some very good wineries. Our dog loved running around on the property. There were several parks where we could take him hiking within a half hour. Our only problem was we could not get several of our favorite TV channels without subscribing to them. However that just gave us more time to read.
