"Hallways smelt poorly, carpets are stained throughout the facility. We got the 4 person japanese room (only 2 in the room) and it was adeqaute for us. Outdoor tub included with room can only hold two people, food included with half board was buffet style and wasn't very good, however had a decent selection of western, japanese and chinese cuisines."

"Excellent hot springs, food and room. The room was nice and clean. There are two major hot springs. One has many pools inside and outside which is nicely decorated with natural stones. The other one is inside and open 24h. It is really nice place to enjoy hot springs."

"The nicest staff I have ever had. Everyone was extremely pleasant, spoke English well, and was willing to help you with anything. I very highly recommend this place to anyone! The traditional ryokan was a fun way to experience Japanese cultural and the staff was extremely happy and gracious to help us through anything we didn’t know."

"Lovely traditional stay in Hakuba. Close to a lift (not the main Gondola) and plenty of food and ski rental options. The dinner option was delicious an very generous."

"Wonderful stay at the Hotel Kurobe. It’s a little older property but well maintained. Staff and meals are excellent. Short walk from the train station but it is uphill. They provide a free shuttle which was very convenient with luggage "

"Amazing hotel with friendly reception. Although quite far away from Toyama city center, in the middle of rice plantations, the hotel was nice with good dining. The big two storied room was clean and pleasant. They offer a Japanese yukata which you wear throug out your stay at the hotel. Good inner and outer Japanese style onsen were you can recover from your busy day."

"I can not more highly recommend Shirouma So! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was very comfortable and perfectly situated near the bus terminal, Happo One, and restaurants. The onsen was the perfect way to finish a day on the slopes. The food was excellent and there was plenty of variety - while breakfast is set, it is different every day. I would definitely stay here again!"
