Disgusting Rooms, Horrendous Service, AWFUL
Horrendous. We were charged an obscene amount of money for a room that was put together the day we arrived. We arrived over 2 hours after the advertised check-in time, and were told to wait because the room was not ready. We waited for over 3 hours, and in the mean time, were offered a drink, which we then had to pay for. Our entire vacation was ruined because of the poor management, horrible conditions of the rooms, unaccommodating, sketchy, and inappropriate hotel staff (which barely existed). We are nothing short of appalled by this experience. We spent 5 nights being moved from room to room, waiting on the hotel staff for basic amenities (AC remote, clean towels, etc.) which caused us to miss activities we had paid several hundred US dollars for and could not get a reimbursement. There was never management on the grounds, so if there was a problem, we had to wait hours to days in order to simply communicate with any hotel staff. Our room was never cleaned, lacked screens (which caused us to come home to bird droppings on our bathroom bags), lacked any hot water or water pressure (so we were unable to shower for the first 3 days), and the list goes on and on. We would highly recommend anyone to NOT stay here under ANY circumstances. A disgusting place that should be shut down for months before any guest is allowed to stay. I travel for a living and have been to hotels around the world and have never had a more horrendous experience than I did at Lanka Eco Village.
