"Nice and handy, 10 minute walk to Kyoto station. Between Higashiyama Honganji and Nishi Honganji. Close to Karasuma Dori and Gojo Dori for buses and subway. Room was very nice and perfect for one or 2 people. Staff were very welcoming."

"Very traditional ryokan and very clean. The rooms were a decent size and the area was quiet. The staff offers you a book with recommendations such as dining and sight seeing attractions as well as how to get there by bus or transit. The ryokan also offers breakfast and other services for a fee, but the breakfast we had was amazing. They also have a bath you can rent for the hour which was a life saver after walking all day. "I don’t think it’s good value. The hotel has no lobby for guests to even sit to put shoes on and space at the hotel entrance is very cramped, narrow and crowded for even one person to walk through with any baggage. Owner only offered one tea bag a day for a two persons room. I will not consider coming back again in the future."

"Description didn't say it was a share space. I traveled with children and I didnt like having to share bathroom with more people. It was a list of "Don't" and I have to keep my children quiet. The doors have a security codes all differents that you have to memorise. On first day my younger child close the door of the room with him inside. An alarm started ringing and it tooks us almost one hour to open it as phones and all information was in the room. Definitely not for families."

"The room is very spacious. Our son traveled with us and was surprised to see another room with a king size bed on what we thought was a closet. The fridge is big enough to accommodate our daily groceries. Never expected to see a mini-kitchen in the room. Will definitely use this place again."

Awesome hotel accross from Kyoto station

"This hotel is perfect. While it was small, it was still big enough for a family of four. We loved that it was literally right across the street from Koto station which itself is a sight to see with the awesome bridge and all of the architecture in the station itself. It was super easy to get anywhere in town. Also we Uber eats from a Thai restaurant to the room and it was amazing. It’s a really great upscale hotel with a lounge open to all guest with books and tea coffee and matcha!"

"Really nice property with friendly staff. The hotel is located in the perfect area. Lots of shopping and food nearby but it’s just off the Main Street so it’s quiet at night and not too busy just outside. The only downside was we got a room with no view. Would have been nice to actually have a view."

"The Granvia is an excellent hotel if you are coming into Kyoto on the Shinkansen. It is located right in Kyoto Station and is easily walkable to get there with luggage. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we are in Kyoto."
