Sunny Beck can be booked with Riverside Cottage (ref UK1367) adjacent to sleep up to 10 guests.

Due to the nature of this property and land there are a number of drops within the grounds of about 1.5 metres and so children must be supervised at all times. There is an unfenced stream in the garden. Access to the back garden area, is from steps at the door of the property, not the gate with 'private' written on. This property is next door to UK1367 which shares the garden

Smashing cottage overall and would return again.
Smashing cottage overall and would return again. Lovely setting and fantastic location. The cottage could do with some more crockery as there was not enough to warrant using the dishwasher. Washing line could do with being my moved into the sun. Builders on site made parking a bit awkward.

We had a lovely holiday staying at Sunny Beck cottage. There are a few things in the cottage that could do with updating but overall it was clean and comfortable. The wonderful garden and the location make it a great place to stay.

We had a lovely week at Sunny Beck, the cottage is lovely in a beautiful location with wonderful gardens, although it was sometimes a bit difficult being a shared garden with the cottage next door. We had 2 dogs with us as did the adjacent property and although we were all quite happy for visits from next door some people may not be so, dogs don't always understand the boundaries ! As for the cottage's equipment , the beds were excellent and comfortable etc. there were however a few issues which were disappointing, i.e. For accommodation suitable for 5 people there were only 3 cereal bowls, 4 tea plates and normally there would be at least a matching wine glass for each person sadly this was not the case. Also we could not change the channels on the TV because we found the batteries in the remote control were dead! Also the lightbulb at the top of the stairs was not working and we couldn't see how to remove the cover to replace it. As this was a strange house to us we would normally have left this light on to see to go to the bathroom during the night. My big concern was the fact that there was no slip mat for the bath and we had to put a hand towel in the bottom of the bath when we had a shower, not ideal but safer than nothing. I would have thought that these basic things would have had a quick check before handover to a fresh tenant. Although in previous comments in the guest book people were complimenting the welcome pack, sadly this was not in our case, all we had was a packet of biscuits ! Some milk etc would have been very welcome, fortunately we did bring some. In the handbook, the tenants were requested to use the steps to the left of the property rather than use the signposted path alongside the adjoining cottages. We found these slate steps to be very dangerous and tended not to use them despite the fact that there appears to be a recent addition of a handrail, it did not make the steps themselves any more stable. However, if these simple things could be addressed I would highly recommend Sunny Beck and would go back again. Someone who likes fishing would be in they're element as with permission to fish in the river at the bottom of the garden it would be they're perfect holiday. My husband saw some good sized trout in the mornings. There is not a pub within a safe walking distance, we did walk the mile or so one day but found it rather dodgy on the narrow winding road without a footpath, it didn't bother us but it's worth noting. We had some lovely walks in Grizedale forest and very much enjoyed the facilities in Coniston, we were lucky with beautiful weather and enjoyed a couple of hours in a motor boat.
